Chapter Twenty One ~ First Date (6/6)

Taehyung.

The evening was perfect, from the romantic setting to the easy going conversation.

Y/N couldn't remember a time where she felt more content, Taehyung had really gone above and beyond tonight and proved to her that he was serious about making them work.

The two were already good friends, that was the benefit of going from friends to something more as you already knew so much about the other. There wasn't the need for ice breakers or awkward silences as you try to figure someone out for the first time as the two had already done that.

It was strange at first, going from something platonic to something more romantic was never easy but the two worked it out and the evening ending perfectly....blissfully.

They spent hours just talking, enjoying the champagne and food Taehyung had prepared for them and once it started getting cold and he noticed the way her body shivered they called it a night.

"Tonight was perfect, thank you Tae."

"You're welcome, I'll pick you up for breakfast tomorrow.....sound good?"

"Sounds great."

The two kissed, not their first but still it sent both hearts racing.

"Night babygirl."

He gently ran his thumb across her jaw, smiling when she nibbled her lower lip nervously.

"Night Tae."

He waited until she closed the door, even then he didn't move.....he couldn't.

Tae felt something he wasn't prepared for in that moment, something which excited yet terrified him. In all his years the young millionaire felt like this was the start of something that could potentially last, something he could be proud of.   

It took him a few minutes to move and once he did Taehyung didn't stop smiling all the way back home.

"Welcome home lover boy, how did it go?" Jimin wasn't the type to sleep early, he always struggled and tonight was no different.

Taehyung had only just stepped through the door, his silver haired friend just leaving the kitchen with a glass of red wine.

"It was....perfect." Tae replied, the smile only getting wider and making his cheeks hurt as he kicked off his shoes.

"Don't think you've ever smiled this much after a date before." Jimin cocked his head and smirked, a twinkle of amusement briefly danced through his blue eyes.

"I've never enjoyed a date this much before.....that's why." Taehyung removed his jacket, throwing it over the chair as he moved inside the living space.  

"I'm guessing that you asked her out again?" Jimin followed, dropping down on the couch as Taehyung fixed himself a whiskey.

"Yeah, I'm taking her out for breakfast tomorrow." 

"So you're really serious about this?" Jimin ran his index finger around the glass rim, eyes never once leaving Taehyung.

"Never been more serious about something before, she's different Chim." Taehyung sat beside his friend, right leg resting on the left as he swirled the contents of his glass.

"I'm happy for you, she's good for you Taehyung." Jimin cared deeply for his friend, he was more like a brother to him and all he ever wanted was for Taehyung to be happy and since meeting Y/N he could see such a positive change happening.

"I'm just scared." Taehyung whispered, taking a sip of the fiery liquid as his head fell back against the couch.

"Of?" Jimin cocked a brow.

"Messing up, hurting her or things not working out."

Jimin could understand his fears, he would have the same himself.

"Take it slowly Tae, don't think about how things can go wrong....focus on how they can go right instead."

Taehyung nodded, he knew Jimin was right but it still didn't stop him worrying.

"Your mom called by the way, I told her that you would call back tomorrow."

Taehyung furrowed his brow, nothing good ever came from his mother contacting him and something deep down told him this wasn't going to be good news.

Y/N.

Miles and Cyrus couldn't sleep, they wanted to know all about her evening with Taehyung and as she told them her heart raced.

Y/N wasn't a stranger to going out on dates, before losing her sight she went on enough to know what to expect but her date with Taehyung was something she wasn't expecting.

It was everything she hoped for and more, it was....perfect.

There was still a small part of her that was nervous, she wanted desperately for this to last but nobody can see the future no matter how hard they tried or how much they wished for it.

"Just enjoy it, don't dwell on the negative sweetie." Miles had said. 

"Exactly, just go with the flow and see where it takes you." Cyrus had said.

Taehyung promised to take her out for breakfast for tomorrow, something they always did as friends and now they were doing it as what? Taehyung said it wasn't just friendship anymore, that they were taking the next step but they hadn't actually said it was an official relationship....more like testing the waters.

"I don't want him dating other people."

Y/N said to both Miles and Cyrus before heading to bed, the two decided to stay over at her place as it was getting too late.

"Taehyung cares about you, he wouldn't do that to you....you need to trust him."

Miles said, kissing her forehead and saying night.

"Just talk to him about it tomorrow, tell him what you want from this relationship." 

Cyrus said after, kissing her cheek.

"Taehyung's track record with women isn't the best but he's a good guy, he wouldn't hurt you."

He finished with a smile, telling her to go and get some rest.

It was almost an hour later and Y/N still couldn't sleep, she wasn't sure how this would all play out but she hoped it would end happily for both of them.

Ugh just stop worrying so much and sleep.

It was shortly after that her phone buzzed, she reached across to grab it from the bedside table and was alerted to a voice message on WhatsApp.

Hey it's me....Tae, of course you know it's me. I just...I've never done this before. I know it wasn't long since we ended the date but guess I miss you already and wanted to say night. I really enjoyed myself, can't wait for breakfast tomorrow. Night babygirl, sleep well.

The smile returned and she suddenly stopped thinking of all the bad things that could happen and focused on the good.
