I jumped up and started running. What was happening? Why were these people after us? Who are these people? Wait. Why do we have to run? I had so many thoughts running through my head that I had bumped into the patio door and was about to fall until Elijah grabbed my hand and pulled me along while sprinting across the backyard. “Drop!” Elijah shouted while immediately plopping onto the ground pulling me down with him. We heard a boom. Not the type of boom you here in class when someone falls out of there seat but a million fireworks exploding all at once. It was a horrific and eerie sound. That sound that the pain goes from your ears to your heart as your heart skips a beat and you look around for your family and friends hoping with all your might that no one felt the power and wrath behind the sound. Which is exactly what Elijah did while pulling me up off of the muddy olive green grass. I pulled my arm out of Elijah’s grasp and walked carefully through the night air in case a night guard was watching or that man was here. As soon as I backed up against the rigid red fence surrounding our house I could see the car exploded but there was still fire. The fire was spreading it, could reach our house in seconds. I had a decision to make do I want to be the hero and risk my life, or go tell everyone else and risk the house which means our lives. I’m not the best at making a decision but, I think that me jumping over the fence and somehow grabbing the hose and putting out the fire was my best option. I ran as fast as I could and jumped on to the fence I was able to make it up the fence enough I could just put my leg on the other side. As soon as I did Elijah came running after and so did everyone else I’m glad everyone wore boots and it rained so I could hear muddy stomping I struggled to pull the green hose through the fence. I managed to pull about five feet of hose by grabbing it through the fence before everyone came running by I turned around to see Nat trying to help me pull out the rest of the hose while Luke and Elijah busted the water hydrant. Abby and Cleo ran back in thru back yard turned on our hose and grabbed the other. The smoke was so thick and the hose was so hard to pull I got this dizzy feeling. One that I felt when I finished the mile run but stronger. I shook it off and realized I wasn’t gripping on the rope as hard and Nat was trying to pull it out of my hands. There was more smoke and I felt sleepy. The last thing I felt was Cleo soft hands holding my head as I fell backwards into the grass.
