Arianna Grande - God is a Women
My day with my mom was going by great. She barely paid attention to anything that wasn't dealing with me. We watched movies and played some games. I even told her about my crush and few things about myself. I didn't tell her about the bulling at school obviously but she has learned a lot about me. I actually learned a few things about her to. Before today, I had no clue that my mother was Journalist. I even asked her about the things she writes about because when I graduate I want to be the same thing.
One thing I can say is that, unlike my dad, she actually makes time for me. Even if it's not as much as I want. That's one of the reason that's I still get excited when I see or hear from her; however, my dad is another story. Even with the free time he gets from his job, he still feels that it's more important to get ahead in work than see how his own daughter is doing. I'm not even sure if he knows that I'm in my last year of high school. I was zoning out until I felt a tap on my shoulder. I saw my mother sitting next to me a very concerned face. I could feel the frown that has found its way onto my face after my internal rant to myself.
"Are you okay, hun?"
"I'm fine. I just need a little air."
She nodded her head in understanding and watched as I left the room. I walked to the front door, deciding that Id just sit on the swing on the porch. I just needed to clear my thoughts. I made it to the swing and checked to make sure there was nothing on it. When I deemed it safe I sat down and look out at my neighborhood. Nothing has really changed since I was little.
The old couple, who lives a couple of houses down, still come out and bask in the afternoon sun. The same old Mexican guy working on his car in the garage while listening to soft music. The same silence that feels the streets because there aren't very many children who value going outside more than playing Fortnite, or whatever games have caught their attention at the moment. I find myself sighing and tilting my head back onto the back of the swing. I close my eyes and let my ears listen out for all the relaxing sounds that surround me at the moment.
I hear the happy chirps from the birds sitting in the tree and the wind as it flows swiftly through the air. I also hear the rumble of what I can make out as a truck or SUV as it powers down the road. I left my head up because usually there isn't much trucks riding by because my neighbor is filled with old folks who usually don't drive or own small cars. We I looked out to find the source I see that its from a car pulling into MY driveway. Maybe mom has some company coming over. I begin to stand so that I can go and get her. I'm frozen in my tracks when the person gets out.
Dear lord, I know that I never call on you unless I need some but please make this be only a dream. Amen.
I close my eyes and open them only to see her walking towards me with that darling smile that makes my knee weak.
"Hey Raegan?"
She said it more as a question than a statement. I looked at her up and down. She looks beautiful. When I get back to her face, I see a smirk planted on it. I blushed. Damn, did she see me checking her out? Of course she did. I'm such a fucking idiot.
"Hey Raegan."
She said it this time as a statement.
"H-hey Genesis." Her smirk was replaces by a smile.
A silence followed after. I don't really know what else to say. Why did she even come here? And how did she get my address? She was the first to speak.
"I didn't see you at school today."
Okay, she was looking for me? I cant say that I ditched school because I embarrassed myself with you yesterday. I remembered my mom.
