ASTRID

Ever since Liam and Bullet returned from taking care of the rogues who trespassed onto our land, which no thanks to him, I found out about, he has been acting hesitant and has only answered with short answers.

So no, as we sit across from each other in the garden, eating lunch, I finally ask him.

"Okay, I can't take this awkwardness anymore. Tell me what's wrong." I said.

He takes in a deep breath and let's it out as he sets his for down onto his plate.

"Yesterday, I received a call from Lee. He told me there were some rogues that somehow got onto our territory. So I told him to hold them in the cells until I got there. Then after you fell asleep, I went and I saw the three rogues. They warned me about their plans to have me watch you all being tortured and eventually watch you all die." He stops himself to wipe some tears.

"Are they still in the cells?" I ask.

"No. I took care of them and had my men give Lydia and whoever she's with a message." He assures me.

We both begin sharing a moment of silence. Then I look up at him and see that he is worried. So I get up and walk over towards him and sit down on his lap while wrapping my arms around his neck and having him look into my eyes.

"Listen to me baby, I promise that no matter what, we will find a way to make sure she regrets ever meeting me and for ever thinking she could come back after so long and try to win you back." I assure him.

He smiles with ease at me.

"I love you." He tells me.

"I love you too." I tell him and we both then share a kiss with one another.

Later on that night, Seline, Bullet, Liam and I were all sitting in the living room and watching a movie on Netflix when all of a sudden, I felt a sharp kick that made me jump almost off the couch.

"Ow!" I yelled out.

"Are you alright baby?" Liam asks.

"Yeah, just the baby kicked. She kicks hard." I tell them. "But I'm okay, I just need to get some more water." I assure them.

"I'll get you some, stay here." Liam offers.

"No honey, it's alright, I need to get up and pee anyways." I tell him.

"Alright." He smiles.

I then get up and try making my way towards the bathroom when all of a sudden, I feel one of my ribs break as I fall to the floor, holding my stomach in pain and start screaming.

"Oh my god." Seline says as she stands up real fast as does Bullet and Liam make their way over towards me.

"Baby? What is it? Are you alright?" Liam asks panicked.

"I don't know. Something feels wrong. She kicked me really hard this time, I felt and heard one of my ribs cracking." I cry out.

"Come on, I'm taking you upstairs." Liam says as he picks me up bridal style and starts carrying me towards our bedroom while calling behind him for Bullet and or Seline to call the pack doctor right now.

Once Liam lays me down in bed, I see him sitting on the edge of the bed, still holding my hand.

"What if....What if something is wrong with the baby?" I cried.

"Shhh. Don't worry, we'll find out soon enough and no matter what, we'll get through this. You are so strong, Astrid." He assures me with a smile while brushing a few strands of hair away from my face.

It hadn't taken too long before the Pack doctor was here and came rushing upstairs and into our bedroom.

"Don't worry, I am here now." He says out of breath while sitting opposite from Liam on the bed and begins opening up his doctor bag and taking out a few things.

The doctor had taken a look at me for a little while and ran all kinds of tests. And after what seemed like forever, he finally told us what was happening while he began packing up.

"So? Is the baby alright?" Liam asked.

"The baby and Astrid are just fine. However, your baby is one strong baby. You see, being an Alpha's child, rather girl or boy, they already have both your strengths and abilities. And I'm not sure what's been going on lately but there is something that seems to be triggering your daughter to make her upset, causing her to throw a tantrum pretty much." He chuckles while grabbing his bag.

"So, you're saying that if I was stressed about something, she's gonna break my ribs?" I asked in little disbelief.

"Well, I feel that she has reacted in a way because there's something or someone that she senses is bad and right now, has no other way in expressing it other than to act out physically on you and your ribs." He finishes.

Both Liam and I look at each other and know exactly who he is talking about even though the doctor has no idea who exactly it is.

"Thank you." Liam says.

The doctor then bows his head at the both of us and leaves. Liam and I look at one another and he takes hold of my hand to comfort me on the bed.

"So, I guess Winter isn't a fan of Lydia either." I chuckled but he wasn't even cracking a smile.

"Promise me something, Astrid." He says.

"Anything." I reply feeling concerned.

"No matter what, you will not leave without me begin right there beside you. I don't care if it's to the store or not. I just, I just can't risk losing you and our unborn child." He says while fighting back tears.

I then place my hand on the side of his face and lean his head foreword towards mine and look into his eyes.

"I promise. Don't worry, nothing will ever happen to me or us. We've been through so much together that this girl won't take that away." I assure him with a smile.
