   ~April's POV~August, 2014

'Sometimes I just can't take the dorkish smile off of my face that I get when I look at any of the four boys in a band I like to call 5 seconds of satan. Did I actually just say that? I mean't 5 seconds of summer...kind of. I guess I call them things because they have single handedly ruined my life by making music. I have become completely obsessed and in love with all four of them. So no, I don't actually hate them. I just hate how much I love them. If that even makes sense.' I wrote thoughtfully as a caption to a picture on my 5sos instagram fan page. I promptly deleted it once I realized how utterly stupid that paragraph was, especially from the mind of a 16 year old. At that exact moment my unthoughtful sister stormed into my room.

"WHERE THE FUCK IS MY PACKAGE?" Kate screamed as she rammed her unwanted body into my room.  "Do you honestly think I take your packages?" I said raising my eyebrow, "I haven't even been out of my room all day." This was obviously a lie. Yes, I did take her package. Technically not though, considering it wasn't even a package, more of one of those padded envelopes. I would have answered differently if she asked if I had taken her padded envelope. "April you little bitch," she said as she slammed the door and left my room. Thank god. I pulled the package out from behind my pillow, correction: I pulled the padded envelope out from behind my pillow. 'Wait.' I thought, and stopped myself from jamming my pen into the tape securing the envelope. I needed to be more swift in how I opened this package so it wasn't noticeable. I sacrificed my nails I had recently painted the darkest shade of black I could find at Walgreen's, and started to peel the tape away slowly only ripping a tiny bit of the florescent orange color of the envelope off. Once I had it safely opened I poured the contents onto my bed.

I honestly didn't believe what I saw in the package. 3 VIP tickets to 5sos at the Forum on November 15, 2014. Being from a small town just outside of Los Angeles I was disappointed when I couldn't get tickets to the Forum due to my parents refusing to buy them. This was only a couple of months away, how could she get them though...They have been sold out for at least a month. It would be strange if they were sent to her too considering this was from a New York address. For some reason it just didn't add up. I took a picture of the tickets, as well as the address on the front of the evelope and then resealed it with a piece of tape I found under my bed in my art supplies kit. My next move was to somehow get downstairs, and put the package back into the mail pile without being seen by my parents, or sister. The issue was our house had sort of an awkward lay out. The staircase led right into a short hallway connected to the kitchen closely. And there was no chance that they wouldn't hear the creaky steps on the stairs as I shifted my weight from one to the next. The only great thing about my house was the fact that a layer of roof was right under my window. So I opened my window carefully. The steep slope of the roof was only going to hold me if I could catch some traction from my shoes. Once I got to the end it would be a safe couple foot fall onto grass. I put my feet out first before emerging my body from the window with the package held tight in my arms.

I slid down the roof my black converse shoes giving me absolutely zero traction. I didn't think this through. I spun myself around quickly and grabbed onto the gutter at the end of the roof. The issue here is that the gutter is made out of a thin sheet metal that definetly isn't strong enough to hold a 16 year old girl. It creeked as I grasped it, I looked down but apparently the drop is a little more than a couple feet...It was either I jumped or let the gutter break under my weight. I dropped with my arms on my head and the envelope in one hand. I fell strait onto my back, the wind being knocked strait out of my lungs. I laid on the grass wondering how big of a thump I had made, and if my family had heard it. Luckily I don't think they did, probably too busy deciding which Ivy League school my sister would go to. She wasn't as good as she appeared though. She snuck out a bunch, but my parents were just too naieve to notice. Instead I was the bad child. And don't even get me started on my little sister, Emmy, she was a perfect, 14 year old, to them.

I felt a little woozy as I got up after the dreaded fall. I made my way to the end of my lawn where the mailbox was and slipped the package in. Then I stumbled to the door. I hadn't thought this through either. How exactly was I going to get through the door without them noticing me? I decided that scaling back up into my room was definetly not an option. My parents owned a large dark green Land Rover that happened to be parked in the driveway. I had to do it. I climbed onto the back of the car and onto the top, avoiding the sunroofs because I wasn't sure if they would break. If I jumped I could make it to the roof by my window. So I did. Yes, I reached the roof, but not without slamming my foot into the gutter. I covered my mouth so I didn't shreik as the pain enclosed over my toes. I managed to climb into the window and and wrip my shoes off to see my toenail almost detatched from my toe and blood flowing from under it heavily. I went into my bathroom to wash it, biting my lip because it hurt so much. We learned a lesson about this when we were learning about human anatomy in school. The fingers and toes have many nerves in them, which is why they hurt so much when things happen to them. I grabbed the pain relieving cream and gently rubbed it on my toe before wrapping it as I cringed.

I was finally safe back on my bed and on tumblr after the pain from my toe had subsided. I heard my sister make her way outside to check the mail and her shrill screams as she saw the package. I didn't know she even like 5 seconds of summer. It made no sense, she always went on and on about how unattractive they were. She especially hated the drummer, Ashton, because he 'looked like an ape'. I had gotten in trouble multiple times for flat out slapping her after she said things about them. I just didn't get why she had VIP tickets to see them if she hated them, or how she got them...
