Edward

Ed was in some deep shit.

Although, it hadn't been his fault. He couldn't help himself. The thought of not seeing those velour green eyes made Ed's heart sink down into his stomach. Or maybe it was the thought of not being able to run his fingers through -from what he cold see- was soft, unruly curly hair. It was all too much for him, but lastly and certainly not least. That damn smirk that was often placed upon his lips.

"Did you hear me Ed?" Niall snapped angrily. Ed looked up from his shoes, not noticing that his best friend had even been talking to him this entire time. "Huh?" Ed asked confused as to what he had been going on about in the first place.

"I said, Ed, you can't and you wont. Got that Sheewin?" Ed rolled his eyes at the nickname, before pushing Niall out of his way. "There is nothing wrong with liking someone okay?"

"Yes, there most certainly is! He's just a kid..."

"What's your point?"

Niall sighed in defeat knowing that he wasn't going to get anywhere with the red head, only because this infatuation was nearly the beginning Ed's obsession. He had been going on for weeks now about how he was madly in love with a boy that he was sure he was going to marry. Ed then began to explain he was a tad bit younger than he was.

A tad bit his arse.

"You will go to jail." Niall said with a smirk, knowing that he had chosen a valid point.

"Yeah? Well if I'm going then you're going too." Ed fired back, strumming a note on his guitar. You would never find him without his instrument. When you saw Ed, you saw his guitar. Most people just found it weird but Ed didn't really care considering he wouldn't ever have to wait to see if a certain cord would go with another if he kept it with him.

"You've nothing to turn me in for." Niall chuckled.

"Actually, do you remember that time in grade four when you stole that cupcake from the cafeteria?" Niall's eyes went as big as saucers "You wouldn't."

"Try me."

This was what Ed and Niall did, joke around and lounge about the apartment trying to pretend they mattered to the world when in all reality they didn't. They were just two boys that decided to drop our of college to pursue a career in music. It was great until come rent time when they had to scrounge up as much as they could.

Ed's parents weren't pleased with his career choice but they still often held him out in a time of need. (Which was often) To Ed, is life was pretty damn good. To others, they wouldn't understand why he kept the shitty apartment he had or work at some small coffee shop when he had been asked to be signed multiple times.

Everything Ed wanted was already at his grasp. A best friend that never left his side, a Chinese/Mexican restaurant downstairs that had some decent food, and of course, his coffee shop.

"Do you think he would want to get some food from Dragon Loco?" Ed asked, still strumming along on his guitar.

"Edward, Edward, Edward... You think a sixteen year old boy would want to get food at a Chinese restaurant that also serves terrible Mexican food?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't he?" Niall laughed and got up from their old leather couch that was long over due to be thrown out, it had been through literally hell and just by look at it, you could tell. "Wait, you never answered my questin." Ed sat his guitar down and followed Niall into the kitchen.

"And I won't be." Niall took the milk carton out of the fridge and began to drink it straight from the carton, when his eyes went wide and he rushed over to the sink, spitting out the chunky milk. "Milks bad." He informed Ed. Ed just shook his head and sat down at the table. "Okay so here's what I'll do, I will ask him if he wants coffee and then I'll sing him a song since he likes my music!" Ed chirped happy with the idea he had in his mind. He really wanted Harry to like him. Ed felt like he wouldn't ever stop liking Harry.

Each time he got up on stage he would try so hard not to meet Harry's gaze but he almost always failed. When his blue eyes met Harry's green, they would both smile and the younger boy would wave at him. It melted Ed's heart completely.

"Listen, Sheerio. He isn't going to want to listen to you sing and drink the coffee that he always drinks. If Harry is the romantic type, which he is, he's going to want something a little more special. Honestly, I don't even know how you got girls in grade school to date you." Niall shook his head and still rummage through the cabinets in the kitchen for something to eat knowing that his best friend was most likely confused having never had feelings for a boy. "Just do exactly what you would do for a girl that you like." Niall said as calmly as possible.

Ed looked at Niall before letting out a deep sigh.

"Dragon's for dinner?" Ed asked, already knowing his answer.

"Yeah... of course." Niall also let out a sigh before jumping on the couch. "You know, if you and Harry don't work out, we can just continue living like this, I mean look at us. We're practically married." Niall said, bursting out into a fit of laughter.

"Yeah, well you horny bastard, won't be touching any of this." Ed gestured to his entire body.

"What a disappointment, you know I'm only friends with you for your devilish good looks." Niall winked before throwing the phone at Ed. "Order our food, dammit."

"Alright, alright." Ed caught the phone and pressed one on the speed dial. "Hey Karen... yeah, the usual..."
