Her name was Sage. When we first met, she was very reserve. She was a mystery in thin air and no matter how many times I had tried prying my way in, she stayed silent not giving me even a second glance. I knew talking to the girl who sat at the back of the classroom and who practically isolated herself from the world was a really big high risk in the highschool food chain. Since I was the school's number one golden boy, I couldn't screw one thing up or else I'll be hearing it until the rest of my years of highschool. But I knew that there was no mistake whatsoever meeting her because I knew if it was fate, maybe even destiny, that brought us together then so be it. It's lame to say crappy love stuff like that, but I guess it's the truth.
Sage was one of a kind. She was sweet, caring, honest, pure, and best of all she was genuinely the most amazing person I have ever met. Nothing could compare to her; not even the most prettiest or smartest or athletic girl could be what she was. I still remember her smell of lavender every time I kissed the crook of her neck and the taste of vanilla on her lips on mine as we kissed. I remember the way she laughed when I made a really really horrible joke just to make her feel better. It was like ringing bells, her laugh. Just like ringing bells that echo through my ears, her laugh brought joy to me.
I loved her more than I love anyone else. She was mine, she is loved, she was everything to me.
She was like my light at the end of tunnel, shining brightly until I was saved.
I just wished the light could've saved her too.
