The device

One rainy afternoon, I was lying down on my bed, daydreaming. It was pretty relaxing, staring at the ceiling while the rain taps on my window, until out of nowhere, one of my friends ran into my room, and woke me up from falling into the zone of dreams.
She had long blonde hair with a green streak at the front. She had a green jacket, green eyes, and green shoes (basically she's a green highlighter), she had a sporty and hyper personality, and always prepared for anything. Kim, that's her name, well, she prefers to be called that.
Anyway, she looked at me, and smiled, while holding up an old looking gadget, the paint was almost peeled off, and it looked really dirty and dusty. "Check THIS out!" She said, proudly as ever. "What is it?" I ask, curious to know what on earth she has. " I dunno, but it looks cool!"
A destroyed gadget, that doesn't look like it would malfunction. That's cool according to her, but anyway, she smiled at me, with probably the whole galaxy in her eyes. "Wanna play?" She asked, as she handed me the device. I looked at it and studied it. Something told me to be on the safe side. "No thanks!" I replied. She gave that, "you're missing out," face. "Well, whatever suits your feet. I'm going on my own, peace!"
She was about to leave the room, until I stopped her. "Wait!" I shouted. She turned around, with a confused look. "Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, who knows what will happen next, maybe it's a bomb, or a curse, or even-" she interrupted my motherly self, as Kim gave me a pretty normal response due to the fact that sometimes, I want my friends safe. "Calm down mom! First of all, this doesn't look like a bomb, and secondly, a curse? Where'd you get that idea, fortune teller?" I started to laugh, she had a point.
"Well... now that you mentioned it... My sis, Connie, kept this in her room for quite a while, and didn't even touch it for months. But oh well! Curiosity kills the cat!" She walked out the room, closing the door behind her.
Connie, also known as the scientist of the group. She had the same color hair as Kim's color, but it's a bit lighter, and it doesn't have a streak at the front. She normally wears an open lab coat with a grey shirt, and she has those glasses that hid her eyes everyday. She has the careful and calm personality, and keeps most things to herself.
But anyway, I was pretty curious on what Kim was planning, so, being the curious kid I am, I uh... decided to spy on her. Now before you say it, I'm not a creeper, I don't randomly go behind trees and listen to people chitter chatter about memes.
But anyway, Kim went to another room, not closing the door all the way, so I took a peek on what she was doing. She started the device up, and a screen came on. Strange, this device didn't even get used in months, and it still works. "Oh sweet, a game!" She said, looking thrilled as she pressed a button. Then, a save file popped up. I looked closely at a save file shown in the screen, and the name of the file was odd. "4352," I thought to myself. I tried to remember the four numbers, until Kim said something, that kind of caught my attention.
"Turn back now? Rude... But why does it say that? Whatever..." Weird, besides that game, no game has greeted a player like that. Yeah, it's kind of creepy. But anyway, spying (I'm not a creeper), kind of got boring, so I decided to walk in her room, and join her, just to test her reaction. She looked at me, with a smile on her face. "Ah, I see you changed your mind!" She said, looking and sounding proud.
