She would wish that Jack liked her. Not "like" her as a friend, but "like" her as a crush.
Then the lunch bell interrupted her thoughts.
The rest of her classes passed quickly, and soon Leah was at her locker, packing her things. She made sure the lamp was safe, and that nothing was set on top of it.
She was on her way out when Jack caught up to her.
"Bye, Leah," he said, then disappeared into the crowd.
When Leah made it to the deserted lot, she looked to make sure that no one was around, and took the lamp from her backpack. She rubbed it and was once again surrounded by green mist.
"Hello again, have you decided on your third and final wish?" Xavier the Green Genie asked as the mist cleared.
"Yes...," answered Leah hesitantly.
"Okay, shoot."
"I-I wish that Jack Garrison likes me," Leah blurted out. Xavier raised an eyebrow. "Not friend 'like,' but 'like' as in.... you know..."
"I get what you mean, kid," Xavier said. A puff of green mist indicated that the wish had come true.
"Wait!" Leah said suddenly. "Before you go... this may sound weird... but, can I, um, keep the lamp in case I want to talk to someone? Because I, um, don't have many friends...," Leah's voice trailed off.
"Sure, kid, I can stay, but only for a while, 'cause I've got a job and all," Xavier chuckled at his own joke. Then he disappeared in a cloud of green mist.

That night, Leah had trouble sleeping. She was too excited for the next day when Jack would like her. But, eventually she drifted off to sleep.
