Grace's P.O.V.
I was finishing up my report when there was a knock on my office door.
"Come in," I called.
I was surprised when Mr. Silverlines walked in. "Grace, just the girl I wanted to see."
I gave him a suspicious look. "Does this have to with you teasing one of my best friends?" I accused.
He didn't even try to hide his smile. "Why yes it does."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Fay left an impression on you didn't she?"
Mr. Silverlines shrugged. "She did. But I find it quite interesting that I couldn't charm her like I usually do with the ladies."
I put my pen down to stare at my boss. "Sir, if I may?"
"Alex, call me Alex, I like to think we're friends Grace."
I raised an eyebrow. "Mhmm, okay, well, Fay is very independent. She's worked her whole life, so people with money don't catch her attention. Especially if they almost run her over," I joked.
He scoffed. "That was an accident."
I folded my arms together onto of my desk and leaned forward. "Alex, do you have a crush on Fay?"
He blushed, I'd never seen him blush before. I mean I've never seen him in this good of a mood. Fay should come here more often.
"Okay, so what if I do. Do you know how I can change her mind about me? I told her I'd take her to lunch today, although I have no idea where she lives."
Oh Fay, forgive me. "I do."
This seemed to get his attention. "Do tell."
"Not only is she one of my best friends, but she is also one of my roommates. We live in the same apartment."
"Excellent," he beamed. "Now, any idea where I should take her?"
I thought about that for a moment. "Well, she's not a fan of the fancy places you've been, probably because we're still college students. We'd never be able to afford that, but there's a little pizza place on the corner of the street. Her favorite there is Hawaiian pizza."
He made a discussed face.
"Seriously, have you even tried Hawaiian pizza?" I asked."
He shook his head. "No, I always thought it looked gross."
I sighed, "Typical CEO."
"What?" he shrugged.
"Okay," I scooted my chair back and stood up. "This is going to be a long morning. Normally I wouldn't even dare give Fay's information out." I wrote her number on a sticky note and handed it to him. "She's going to kill me when you text her, but here's her number. Please be nice to her. She's not a morning person at all. I got one of our other friends to wake her up this morning to deliver that file, and well, I'll be surprised when I see my friend alive after all that."
"Not a morning person?" he asked.
"No, her first class is like at two or three, so on Monday's she sleeps in."
"How about tomorrow?"
"Eh, I think her first class is at ten, then she has another at one, then she goes to her intern job at Linda's Printing." And let me tell you, her boss sucks there.
