The days went by, but they were colorless. Nothing looked the same. Natsu could now understand what those sad songs mean't. The type of sad songs that talked about some woman named Annabelle Lee, and how she left them all alone after playing with their hearts.
Lucy was his Annabelle Lee. Her beautiful smile. Her sparkling brown eyes like polished buttons on corduroy. Her shining blonde hair, as bright as the sun.
—-***——***—-***—-***
She was like a star. She burned hot and bright, but was millions of miles away from his grasp. The more he tried to reach for the beautiful white light in the vast darkness of space, the more it distanced itself.
The star didn't want to be reached by him. It kept making its point clear. It didn't want his touch. No matter how far he went to just make the star notice him, the star wasn't impressed.
The star in the galaxy, met an ice cold black hole, and fell in love with it. The mystery behind where it would lead if you took the path it offered. The star felt like the black hole was misunderstood. The other stars and planets didn't want to get near it.
Maybe if the star could show the others that there was beauty in this black hole and not eternal despair, the others would accept the black hole in their family too.
The star ran into multiple obstacles, but they didn't deter her from completing her goal. She passed by them, some with ease, some with more effort. But, this obstacle she ran into was way bigger than any other.
The star had let the sun fall in love with her. The sun wanted her all to himself, but she didn't want him. She needed to finish what she started.
The sun was persistent. It continued on. Until, the star obliterated the mere idea of him and her ever being together in such a romantic way.
She wanted to have a platonic friendship. Of course the sun was disheartened. He left with his whole world crashing down on him. His brightness dimming into nothing but a faded glow.
The star regretted what she did afterwards. She went off to apologize for her harsh words, but the sun was nowhere to be found.
Days turned to weeks.
When the sun finally made an appearance back on his throne surrounded by the others, the star was happy to see him.
She could finally apologize. This guilt would no longer eat away at her like maggots in rotting flesh.
She approached the sun, but was blocked off by his many suitresses. They circled and crowded around him. They laughed at his jokes and complimented him on his strength.
The women were like two faced coins. Kind and sweet to the sun, but cruel and bitter to the star.
The star had to realize, pushing past this obstacle wasn't going to be as easy as it seemed. She may have cut away some thorns, but she jumped blindly into a path that looked clear yet, had more problems.
She tried catching his attention. When she finally did meet his gaze, he blankly looked at her. Turning his attention back to one of the many women that encircled him like vultures and their dead prey.
The star had been so blind. She had a handsome, dedicated, and funny man in love with her. But, she was still in love with the black hole. It's icy black eyes catching hers in an inescapable trap.
"I'd like to make an announcement everyone." The sun tapped his glass filled with sparkling champagne.
The eyes of all stared at him with their full attention. He was not one to be ignored.
"Thank you. I'd like to make an announcement. I am recently getting over a terrible heartbreak. She was very harsh when she rejected me. But, I am on the road to recovery. Please, enjoy the party."
His words sent the planets, stars, and galaxies talking. The black holes sharing looks amongst themselves. Asteroids and comets critically looking for said woman.
"Who is she?"
That was the question mainly going around. It was a huge question that seemed to not have an answer, until one of the women in the sun's inner circle caught everyone's attention for the second time.
"Everyone, I have heard what you have been rambling on and off about. If I'm not mistaken it is about the woman who broke the sun's heart yes?" Oh did they let her know that she was right. They nearly talked over each other to confirm her assumption.
"Good. I'm glad we're on the same page here everybody. I in fact know exactly who the woman was. What's even better is that she's here right now, in this room."
That sent chaos. The star grew nervous, she tried to leave, but the black hole caught her eyes. He looked back at her with an intense glare.
The black hole raised his hand, silencing everyone. They watched him with curiosity. No black hole had ever done such a thing before.
The corners of his lips curved upwards. A smirk playing on his face.
"I found the woman everyone. You won't believe who it is." The suitress smiled nodding her head at him.
"Please do inform us on who it is." The suitress knew, and so did the black hole.
His icy eyes still held the stars panicked brown eyes. He let his hand point out to her. The guests eyes followed his hand. The cold aura emanating off of it. His words cold as death as they left his lips.
"It's the star you all never expected. It's the milky way's daughter, Lucy Heartfilia. What a surprise. You break hearts and you are a whore. Hell, you threw yourself onto me. What a clingy bitch." That sent the nail into the coffin, sealing her shut in deaths dungeon.
The guests were infuriated. They were going to ruin her for hurting their King. Their sun.
His light like it was shining in through a dirty window of an abandoned house. He was no longer the bright sun they'd known him to be.
It was all the stars fault.
