In Trouble With My Landlord

I sat in my apartment drumming my nails along the table impatiently. Big Sky said that he needed to talk to me about money, which made me shiver. I knew that I hadn't played rent in about a two months. What? University is expensive!

Big Sky is the best landlord because he lets me off quite a lot, but I knew I was in trouble this time.

A few long moments later, Big Sky arrived at my door with a sorry look on his face.

"Hello y/n. I hate to be here."

"God am I that bad?"

"You know what I mean." He rolled his eyes handing me an envelope.

I opened it and sighed a shaky breath.

"You owe a lot of money. Unless you can pay at least half of it by Thursday-"

"Friday?"

He chuckled. "Okay, Friday - then I'm going to have to kick you out. I really hate to do this."

"I know, it's my fault, I should've payed attention." I mustered up a smile, "I'll get you the money by Friday." I promised.

"Okay." He looked guilty. "If you need anything?"

"I know, don't worry about me."

After he left, I made a coffee and submitted a Tumblr post. Priorities. Then I walked next door to Big Marvel, he always knew how to cheer me up.

I knocked on his door. "Hey." I waved as he opened the door.

"What's wrong!" He said panicking.

"Nothing-no wha-why?" I panicked myself. I didn't want to worry him.

"You've been crying." He held my hand and brought me into his living room.

"It's not what it looks like!" He screamed.

"You were watching The Bee Movie without me?"

"Don't cry! I have hot chocolate." He gave it to me and we snuggled up in the blankets, watching half the movie. I know it's still summer, but you can have hot chocolate all year round.

I smiled as I sat by Big Marvel. Then I got a buzz from my phone. I turned it on and looked down at my notification.

'Language Lecture 12:15'

"Oohooo! I have a lecture to get to!" I kissed his cheek and ran to the door, putting my boots on. "I already am spending all my money on uni, I probably should attend." I whispered under my breath.

"Bye bye."

I went home and grabbed my notebook, pens and laptop that were scattered on my desk. I walked down the stairs and out the door of the building. My bike was in the bike rack around the corner so I unlocked it and rode to university nearby. My apartment was near campus so it was handy for a last minute lecture I'd forgotten about.

I looked down at my phone, "12:17, not too bad!"

Taking my seat I began to write vigorously, until I was distracted by a text.

BM: Why didn't you tell me you were in trouble with Big.S? Xx

Me: didn't want you to worry X

BM: I can help you, you should've asked... X

Me: I can sort this out myself, I just need till Friday X

BM: okay...

"And this concludes our lecture, make sure you got all the notes, see you next week." The teacher said as she packed her folder in her bag.

"Hey, y/n!" A girl in my class with short brown hair ran up to me.

"Hey Hana. Did you get all the notes? I got kinda distracted." I asked as I scratched the back of my neck.

"Sure did I'll send you a picture of my sheet."

"Thanks. I don't know what I would do without you." I smiled.

"Are you coming to the ball on Thursday?"

"In school?"

"Yeah you didn't know? It's black tie."

"Oh yeah, I'll think about it."

"I've got a date! It's going to be so romantic. Will you bring anyone?"

"Probably Big Marvel." She looked confused.

"Who is this big guy, sorry?" I giggled a bit.

"My boyfriend Myung-hoon."

She was shocked, "You have a boyfriend?! Lucky. I always thought you'd be the last to get a boyfriend."

I just nudged her in a playful way and said goodbye, riding my bike back home.

"Y/n!" Big Marvel shouted from behind me.

I stopped my bike on the street to see Big Marvel heading home with shopping in his hands. I walked beside him, wheeling my bike along next to me.

"Hi," I waved, "Whadya buy?"

"Not much, crisps, sausage, spicy ramen."

"Would you like to come to a ball with me?" I blurted out.

"Yes, is it a date?" He winked.

"It's black tie on Thursday afternoon." I said ignoring his question.

"I'll be there."

I miss Big Sky, he's hardly in Big Marvel's videos anymore :( Hopefully the next chapter will be funnier, but I hope you enjoyed.
