Part 1

The heat was unbearable as you trudged along the corridor towards the mess hall. After a morning of long training sessions and backbreaking chores, even just walking and staying vertical was sapping every ounce of energy from your overheated exhausted body. Your once clean and crisp uniform was now a sweaty mess, which clung to your form, increasing your discomfort and your boots had begun to rub.

Messy, sweat coated (colour) hair stuck to your scarlet face as you finally reached to mess hall. After reaching your destination your body gave in and you dumped yourself in the most ungraceful and unlady like manner in your usual spot on the bench with your friends.

After making a slight recovery, you decided to take a glance around the table and make a slight effort to be sociable. You weren’t too surprised when you found that the main topic of discussion was the weather. Apart from the fact that majority of your friends, like you, were a dishevelled mess, the normal daily behaviours continued undisturbed. For instance, Jean and Eren were arguing again with Mikasa watching ready to intervene if things go too out of hand, Connie was with Sasha, who begging for food for a slightly uncomfortable looking Bertolt. Krista sat babbling away in her usual adorable fashion between Reiner and Ymir, who without her knowledge were having a stare off, each telling the other to back off  and both unwilling to do so.

Everything seemed normal, expect for the absence of a particular blonde. After a unsatisfactory dinner of dry bread and salty boiled potatoes, washed down with a cup of lukewarm water, it was announced that Squad Leaders and Commander Smith had declared the rest of the day as free time. A few cheers, but mainly sighs of relief could be heard around you as you were informed that all training and chores were cancelled due to some cadets suffering heat extortion and some had even passed out.
