Ch.1: the beach

Y/n pov

"Come on! I want to be building a sand castle right now!", Jisoo yelled as she stomped her feet.
"I'm packing my bag jeez", I said grabbing my towel and sunscreen.
"Ugh I'll be in the car"

She quickly walked out of my room. I grabbed the last of my stuff I thought I needed for the beach. I put my sunglasses on and slung my bag over my shoulder and headed straight out the door. Jisoo was sitting in her car on her phone tapping her foot impatiently when I got in the car.
"Finally! What did you pack? A fucking Zoo?", She said putting her phone down and started the car.
"No"
"Then what took you so long?", She asked while her eyes were on the road.
"None of your business Kim, now I'm gonna listen to some music so shut up will ya?", I said and put my earbuds in.
"You always ignore me. Wait until Lisa finds out about this"
I took out my earbuds real fast once she said that.
"I'm not scared of her it's just that her legs are frightening"
"Her legs? How are they scary?", Jisoo said with a giggle.
"They're just too long! They remind me of noodles", I blurted out as I shivered.
"Oh my god, Lisa is gonna beat your ass once I tell her this!"
"Tell her all you want. Now here's the part where I ignore you again", I seriously said and tried putting my earbuds back in but she stopped me.
"Oh no you don't. We're already at Lisa's. Text her that we're here"

I texted Lisa and about two minutes later she finally ran out of her house and hopped in the backseat of Jisoo's car.
"Yo Manoban, longtime no see", I happily said as I looked back.
"Aye Y/n! I missed you guys so much! Ahh, now let's go to the beach!", Lisa screamed out making us laugh.
"Lisa tone it down a little, god I'm gonna go deaf", Jisoo interjected as she drove.
"Sorry Jichu, I'm just so excited to spend the day with you guys"
"Yeah I'm sure you are. Y/n didn't even want to come with us today"
"Aww what? Why?", Lisa said with sad eyes and turned her head to me.
"I don't really like the beach. It's too much to take in"
"You're so frigging weird", Lisa said as she pinched my left cheek.
"You probably hate the beach because it's fun and all happy while you're not", Jisoo casually said out of nowhere.
"I'm not gonna argue with that", I said basically agreeing with her comment.

Moments have past and we've just been talking about random stuff together as Lisa was bouncing around in the backseat. Jisoo took a sharp turn and Lisa tumbled sideways and hit her head on the window.
"Oww unnie slow down", Lisa pleaded as she rubbed her head.
"I'm not even going that fast, I'm driving the speed limit"
"And Lisa isn't wearing her seat belt. That explains a lot", I said with a laugh as I glanced at Lisa who is now glaring at me.
"Lalisa! Put that damn seat belt on before I come back there and~",
Before Jisoo even finished her sentence, a click sound filled the car and it signaled that Lisa had done what she was told.
"No need to say anything else unnie"
"Good. We're almost there just a few more minutes"
I sat there in the passenger seat, not saying a thing as I could still feel the tension between Lisa and Jisoo. I looked at them back and forth hoping they weren't going to yell at one another like last time we were all hanging out.

"Yay! The beach!", Lisa said jumping out of the parked car and running down the wooden stairs to the sand.
"Lis, you can't even wait for us!?! You're such a bitch!", Jisoo chuckled as she grabbed the bags from the trunk.
"You guys have the stupidest fights"
"Only when you're around"
"What is that supposed to mean?!?", I whined as we walked down the stairs.
"Nothing. Let's just have fun, c'mon"

We placed our towels down and laid on them immediately. I took out all the snacks we brought and placed them in a pile. Jisoo was spraying sunscreen on her arms as I saw Lisa already swimming.
"Don't go too far from shore you dip shit!", Jisoo yelled out loud making people look at us.
"Yes Mom!", Lisa replied and Jisoo just scoffed as I laughed.
"Ugh the disrespect"
"Jichu relax and sun tan", I said rolling my eyes and took out my novel.
"Oh my! girl no! You're reading twilight?!? Ha!"
"God, now I don't even want to read", I sighed shoving the book back into my bag.
"I'm going for a walk"
"Be careful Y/n or else!", Jisoo said in a stern tone as I walked away.

The sand caked in between my toes with each one of my steps. It started to get a little chilly as I moved closer to the water. A wave came towards my feet and it was up to my ankles. I slightly shrieked at the sudden coldness and jumped away from the other upcoming waves. I then heard a faint giggle coming from behind me. My body took a full spin and I looked up to see a girl in a red one piece swimsuit sitting on a tall white chair.
"Oh you think that's funny missy?", I said giving her a small glare.
"No no it was... ehh I got nothing. It was funny"
"Y/n! Did you just scream from water?!? What a pussy!", Lisa yelled out from the ocean.
"Yeah fuck you too lis!", I yelled back and she just flashed a big smile.
The giggle appeared in the air again.
"Stop laughing at me!"
"I'm sorry, I'll stop", She said looking off into the distance.
"Hey lifeguard lady I was just joking around. Make fun of me all you want I don't care"
I started walking away after I didn't get an answer.
"Yo shrieking girl!", She called out as she climbed down from the tower of a chair.
"Huh, what do you want?"
"I can joke too", she said with a smile that was truly one of a kind.
"Well aren't we all a bunch of jokesters. I'm Y/n", I said offering my hand for a shake.
"Jennie", She responded as she took my hand.
"Well I have to get back to my job, but see you around yeah?", She said pointing to the lifeguard chair.
"Hopefully"
I stupidly grinned as I continued to walk on the sand.
"Hey Y/n! I saw that face, get her number! God you can't flirt for shit!"
My eyes widened as I turned around and looked back at Lisa as she swam. I looked to see if Jennie heard her, but of course to my luck she did. My eyes met hers and she just gave me another smile. I quickly walked away, embarrassed. All I heard was Lisa laughing in the distance. I kept my eyes on the ground and sat down on the towel next to Jisoo.

"Ugh I fucking hate Lisa"
"Pshh don't we all", Jisoo laughed looking up from the vogue magazine.
"What'd she do now?"
"She totally humiliated me in front of a girl", I said as I put my face into my hands.
"Ha you do that to yourself anyway so"
"Not helping"
"Look, get your sad ass up and get that girl if this upsets you that bad", Jisoo replied with a serious tone.
"But what if she's~"
"No what ifs just go, jeez just yolo it"
"You're right... no more coward Y/n", I said getting up from the towel.
"That's my best friend, go get her tiger", Jisoo clapped while smiling.

I walked back over to the lifeguard chair hesitantly, but when I got there I saw something I didn't want to witness. Lisa socializing with Jennie. Jennie laughing at what Lisa was saying while giving her arm a light touch. Those are all the signs that are so obvious to count as flirting. All I did was stand there and watch from a far.
What is Lisa doing? When it was completely noticeable that I was into Jennie. What a friend she is. My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Lisa stare my way.
