Jennie's pov

My shift ended late yesterday since some dick wads wanted to have a college frat party that involved drinking and swimming in the ocean. Might I add that it was around midnight and if I wasn't a lifeguard I would've wished them to fucking drown. At least I got a girl's number, wow wee am I ecstatic like I've never actually had girls hit on me before. Guys I get all the time but of course I turn them down.

I woke up at around 10 am and I'm so glad I'm off today because I seriously need a break from screaming kids "help help I can't swim", well buddy maybe your parents should've thought about that before throwing you into the water. I really have to stop thinking about my job even I get tired of hearing about it, and what sucks is that I can't even get away from myself. My head was also hurting this morning for god knows what reason. I got out of bed with a groan and walked to the medicine cabinet in my kitchen. I grabbed the Advil bottle and chucked two pills in my mouth. They tasted bitter sweet which is disappointing since they look like skittles. I just dry swallowed them and then went back to my room to flop on my bed. My phone kept going off nonstop. A ding every 2 to 3 minutes. Angrily I unplugged my phone and checked who was bugging me. It was Chaeyoung, one of my bestest friends since elementary school.  I read through all the messages she sent and basically it was just her nagging at me to wake up and for us to hang out. I replied then tossed my phone to the side.
"I'm getting too old for this shit", I huffed as I sat up from my bed.
I heard my ankles crack as I stood up and it scares me to death because it sounds like one of those possessed people from horror movies. I got dressed in my most simplest outfit. I'm not feeling like I should go all out. I got no one to impress. I was about to leave when I heard a banging at my door.
"Who the hell", I rolled my eyes and stomped to the door.
"I'm LAPD and I've got a gun so you better~"
"Jennie, Jesus Christ you're becoming real welcoming", I heard a women's voice holler from the other side.
"Chae?", I said as I opened the door.
"No shit. Who'd you think it was? A robber"
"Hey you never know, LA is crazy"
"Yeah with people like you", She said with a laugh.
"I didn't know you were picking me up"
"Well if you would read my texts", Chae said giving me sass.
"Let's just go"

I pushed past her and walked towards her car. It was a dark gray Toyota Corolla with ridiculous little figurines on the dashboard.
"Your car always gets more and more childish every time I see you", I said shaking my head.
"At least I still have my innocence"
"Yeah yeah now drive you five year old", I responded jokingly.

We drove off and as we past house after house, I finally knew where we were going. Chaeyoung goes to the same place everyday. It was this hidden bakery that was so small that people usually walked right by it, paying no attention to it. It's honestly not bad, their entrees are decent, but their coffees are to die for. It's more like a restaurant and a coffee shop had a baby rather than a bakery.
"Chae you have an addiction"
"What do you mean?", She said with an obvious smirk while get out of her car like she already knows what I am talking about.
I had no choice but to get out too. As we walked inside, I could already smell the freshly brewed coffee and I felt my mouth water. Chaeyoung waved to all the workers and they literally said "Hi Chae", man this girl needs to lay off this place.
"I can't believe you know them all", I laughed as we both seated ourselves at a booth.
"Hey at least I don't know the owner of this place, but god do I want too"
"Quit fantasizing about it. I'm getting freaked out", I said while looking through the menu that was only two pages.

A waiter came to us with the most widest smile. He had bright blue hair and a chain like earring in one ear. He then got his notepad out from his apron pocket.
"Hello I'm Tae, I will be your waiter today. Are you ready to order?"
"Hi Tae, yes we are. I would like an iced white mocha and one of your best club sandwiches", Chae said as she closed her menu.
"Perfect. And you pretty lady?", He grinned as his eyes landed on me.
"I'll just take a caramel frappuccino, thank you"
"Alrighty then, I'll be back in a jiffy"

He left and I just looked at Chaeyoung.
"What?"
"Was he just flirting with me?", I asked not knowing for sure.
"Tae is like that with everyone. Don't worry about it"
"Hmm and another thing"
"Ugh aren't you done criticizing this place?", She groaned.
"Ehem not really, but why does everyone have dyed hair like that guy behind the counter has pastel pink hair. Is there like some color scheme we don't know about?"
"Jen, this is just a very warm and welcoming bakery okay", Chae said getting annoyed.
"Alright alright I'll stop, don't get your underwear in a bunch"
"Here's your iced white mocha and your caramel frappuccino", Tae interrupted as he placed our drinks down on the table.
"Thank you", Chae and I both said in unison.
"Of course. Your sandwich will be out in a few", He assured as he walked to a different booth.
"I gotta pee and don't touch my coffee like last time", I warned as I got up.
"Huh you don't enjoy salty coffee?", Chae grinned evilly.

Chaeyoung's pov

Jennie has literal bladder problems, she has to pee every half hour. Now I'm just here sitting alone looking like a buffoon. I sipped my coffee and checked my watch for the time. 11:30 am, not even lunch time yet. I continued to drink my coffee until I heard the chime of the door. A girl entered, she was extremely good looking. She hopped over the counter and gave the cashier boy a handshake then headed towards the back of the bakery. Just when she left, Jennie came from the bathroom.
"Dude. I just saw the hottest girl walk in", I said not wanting to hold it in.
"Good for you?", Jennie said and took a sip from her mug.
"Yuck. They didn't add enough sugar in this"
"Not everyone can perfect Jennie Kim's coffee like she can", I said with a chuckle.
"You're telling me"
"Wait what are you doing?", I gazed at her as she got up from the booth for the second time.
"Going to tell them to remake it"
"Jen dont you dare", I whisper yelled, but I was too late she was already on her merry way to the counter.

Jennie's pov

"Excuse me, sir", I said to the pink haired boy.
"Oh yes, what can I do for ya?", He said with a genuine smile.
"My frappuccino is a tad bitter, do you think you can make it right this time?"
"Yeah for sure", He replied and took the mug from my hand in a jerky way.

I waited leaning on the counter as I tapped my foot. I heard that guy in the back complain about me and it made me chuckle. Now that I think about it I'm definitely going to have a spit ball in my coffee. Just peachy. My thoughts were quickly interrupted by a creek from the kitchen doors of the bakery. I looked up to see someone I didn't think I would run into.
"Y/n?!?", I said surprised.
"Oh hey Jennie. What are you doing here", She said just as surprised as I did.
"Just grabbing a coffee with my friend", I replied and pointed over my shoulder towards Chaeyoung.
Chaeyoung waved at us and Y/n waved at her with a small smile.
"So what are you doing here?", I asked curiously since I have never seen anyone I know here before.
"I actually own this place"
