The Day of Hinata kidnapping was also the birth of Nami.
Hinata is older than Nami by two years and Neji is older by three.
Without the knowledge of his daughter being taken away, her father decided to replace his twin brother, Hinata's father, in death. His daughter was being kidnapped, by Kumogakure ninja as a "just in case". The ninja assumed the clan might have something up their sleeve, they were correct and now had an extra punishment for the clan.
Sorrowfully, Neji lost two family members that week.
Kumogakure had sold Nami to Gato, she was put in a training centre of his choice. She was trained to become a weapon of the mist. She would receive a final exam which she must kill her sensei to show whether or not she was able to successfully learn.
The poor child tries to run away to a village that can become her home.
That village just happens to be The Hidden Leaf.
