Sana stared at the being laying in her arms.

"D-Dahyun ah, d-don't close your eyes. Please don't leave me...don't close your eyes..." Sana whimpered.

"Sana unnie..." Dahyun called Sana cutely, barely as her pale lips quivered in weakness. Her eyes fluttered as she tried her best to take in every detail of her, memorising her features even as tears invaded her vision causing phosphenes to block sight of the latter. She felt the wave of tiredness sweeping over her, and eternal relief and freedom from all burden called to her, luring her.

"Y-yes?" Sana was staggering as she felt hot tear sliding down her cheeks and into her mouth as she answered Dahyun. She tasted the salty substance.

"I'm sorry." Dahyun apologised sincerely and dolefully.

"I forgive you, I forgive you. Now please, do not close your eyes, look at me! Look at me!" Sana was a sobbing mess, she didn't bother swallowing the saliva caught in her throat and she choked. She gagged and begged for Dahyun to stay with her as she shook Dahyun with all her might hoping the discomfort would keep her awake.

"I'm so sorry...I'm tired of breathing..." Dahyun stared into Sana's eyes apologetically.

"No...no! Don't leave me! Don't leave me please!" Sana emptied her lungs screaming into Dahyun's ears. Sana ran her fingers under Dahyun's shirt and searched. Her entire body was sticky from the sweating. Sana felt the flow. It's was wet. Slick to the touch. It could only be blood. Sana prodded, pressed on it hard, hoping it would stop the flow. She would hold the blood, she would hold life within her.

But blood still seeped through her fingers, and it trickled down her fingertips, dripping down on the ground as Sana lifted out her hand.

Sana swallowed hard at the amount of blood on her hands. The flow of the blood was uncontrollable. Just like her tears. She stared at Dahyun lovingly. She had so many things untold.

She caressed Dahyun's soft cheeks with her hand, the blood smudged her face but they didn't care.

"Dahyun, Dahyun. I love you, I love you so much. You know that right? You love me too, right?" Sana asked hoarsely, cupping her cheeks.

Dahyun barely managed a nod. She wanted to say it but the words wouldn't come out. Instead she found herself choking on her dry tongues and arching her back, coughing out blood as a result.

"If you love me too, why must you leave me?" Sana croaked.

Dahyun shook her head. She wanted to tell Sana she loved her. She wanted to tell her she didn't want to leave. She wanted to tell her how much plans she had made for them, how much she would like to accomplish them with her. She wanted to apologise. But none could be achieved and all Dahyun could do was wince at the agonising pain. Both at the wound and her disability to tell Sana everything.

Breathing grew difficult. Dahyun inhaled painfully and exhaled in a ragged gasp. Loss of blood was killing her. The unbearable pain made her want to sleep. Simple closure of eyes would bring it all away. But she kept her eyes on Sana. Each time she blinked she feared that she would be unable to open them again. She felt her eyelids getting heavier. She could no longer feel Sana's arms wrapped around her. She could no longer hear Sana calling her. Her vision was giving way and Sana was starting to fade away. She was dying.

Sana noticed the faltering breaths. She knew it was coming to an end. She felt relieved for Dahyun that she would finally be free from all the pain. But she was still refusing to let go of her. She was trembling now. She still wasn't ready for it. Dahyun was huffing. The temperature of her body decreased. Colour drained from her cheeks. Her pulse slowed. Palpitation weakened. Dahyun lifted her arm and reached for Sana and Sana willingly took her hand and kissed it.

"Forgive me my love. I...love-" Dahyun's lips twitched, her words died in her throat. Her hand slipped from Sana's grasp. Her head tilted to the side, no longer looking at Sana anymore. Now Sana would never be able to hear those words again.

Sana's heart skipped a beat. No. She stared at Dahyun. She pinched Dahyun's chin and lifted her head to face her. Dahyun's eyes were still open, but it held no expression. Sana stared into those blank, unseeing eyes. Sana's heart clenched. She gripped her chest and screamed out the pain of her loss. She had her knees rooted to the ground, her neck covered in veins popping out stretched up and her head facing the sky.

Dahyun left the world. She left Sana alone in this merciless world of cruelty.
