Chapter 4
"And he just said the nastiest thing to me! Ugh!" I yelled clearly disgusted, throwing my arms up in the air. It was lunch, and I was explaining what had happened two periods ago. Well, I guess a period and a quarter ago since I arrived late.
"Well, to me it seems like he has a crush on you." my friend, Thalia, said. I rolled my eyes and sank in my chair, clearly defeated. Since she was sitting on the table, I was eye-level with her black Doc Martins. I touched one of the little silver spikes she added herself, I thought it was going to feel smooth but instead it was a bit rubbery. Strange.
I mean, Thalia was a strange person in her own way. She rocked the classic punk/emo look with her spiked up black hair, a rock band from the early 2000's, and bracelets you'd find at Hot Topic. Not to mention the pound of eyeliner she used on her eyes everyday. We once had a sleepover and her removing it took at least half an hour, and her eyes looked bloodshot red.
But once you got to know her, you realize she's just a huge softie. She's really one of the nicest people, but yet the one of the most fierce. Same with Piper, and myself actually. We're all just nice, easily angered girls.
I love my friends.
I got back up and shoved her playfully, "Hell no. He would never have a crush on me. He goes for girls with more boobs than brains."
"Hey!" Piper exclaimed, "There's nothing wrong with big boobs." I apologized and tried to explain what I meant but she rolled her eyes and laughed at me.
"Anyway, we used to be best friends. There's clearly nothing friendly between us now, so there's no reason for him to like me." I shrugged and took a sip of my Sprite.
"Well-" Piper started but soon got interrupted.
"-Well, look who it is." someone sneered.
"Hello, Calypso...and minions. Who stuck their dick up your ass today?" Thalia asked innocently. Uh oh, here's the fierceness I was talking about.
"Oh, Percy Jackson. His di-"
"We don't really want to know about your sexual relationship so...if you could just scurry off to your table." I said, shooing them off as if they were flies. This literally happens every day. Why they like to bother us? I have no idea.
"Why? Are you jealous?" she asked, trying to taunt me. Let me tell you, she's literally the least threatening person I've ever met. I would know, two of them sit right next to me.
I let out an unattractive snort and generously gave her the biggest eye roll I ever produced. "Of having sex with anything that has a dick? Yeah, I am so jealous." I sneered with sarcasm dripping from each word.
Then I caught his sea-green eyes. Percy Jackson. He smirked at me as he made his way over to the table. I groaned and placed my head in my hands. God, please no. Not now.
He sat down next to me and slung his arm over my shoulders. He smelled pretty good, like the sea.
"Hey babe, how are ya doing?" he asked innocently. I tried not to laugh as I realized this could come to my advantage.
"Well, I am doing just the best with this slut right in front of me." I pouted, gesturing to Calypso. I went along with his charade to elicit her reaction.
"Hey, sexy." Calypso said, flirtatiously. I really liked how she flashed us a little bit when she said that. It didn't make me lose my appetite at all, I swear.
"Carla-" Percy started off.
"My name is Calypso." She interrupted him with a fake smile.
"Then Calypso, I told you it was a one night stand. Now go, shoo off, be gone." He snapped. Where did this sass come from?
