When Misty entered her office, she found a bouquet of flowers on her desk.
She quickly went to read the note. It said,
I hope you like them
Ash
"Oh, you little Ash, sneaking in my office..." Misty giggled to herself, blushing. The redhead picked up her phone and dialed Ash's number.
Good morning
"Thanks for the flowers." Misty sat on her desk. "They're beautiful."
But you're prettier, of course.
Misty giggled loudly. "You don't give the impression that you can do the sweet talk."
It's now or never. Forty is coming.
"Ash, you're going to make me laugh loudly." Misty was trying hard not to burst out laughing. "We'll get caught!"
We aren't doing anything wrong, are we?
"We should be working..." Misty fiddled with her dress. "Not talking on the phone about flowers."
And beauty.
Misty looked up when she noticed someone enter her office. It was May.
"I'll call later. Okay? I have company."
Don't take too long.
"Bye."
May closed the door behind her. "Was it Ash?"
"Look at this!" Misty showed her the flowers. "Isn't he sweet?"
"Well, maybe." May walked toward the desk and stood against it. "I think he's way too serious about this little thing. Don't you think?"
"What do you mean?"
"What do you mean what do I mean?" May chuckled. "Ash seems to be very serious! I think he really likes you, Misty. He's sincere."
"I know he is!"
May crossed her arms over her chest. "Once you get promoted, how will you get rid of him?"
Misty's mouth opened, but no words came out.
"See? That's a problem." May nodded.
"I'll figure it out."
"Did you talk to him about it?" She asked her. "What did he say? Is he going to bring up the topic with President?"
Misty cocked her head. "I don't want to tell him about this yet."
"And when are you going to bring it up?"
"We've only been on a few dates. We aren't boyfriend and girlfriend." Misty defended herself. "Once we're official, I'll talk to him and he won't refuse me the favor."
"Official?" May laughed. "Misty! He's head over heels for you!"
"That's his problem, May, not mine!" Misty huffed and went to put the flowers in the vase. "That's his problem."
"Not that I think it's wrong. He seems really happy too..." May trailed off. "Maybe you should give him a chance."
"Hum?" Misty turned around.
"You know... a real chance." May smiled. "He treats you right and he's loving. You'd like him with time."
"I can't be with someone I don't like." Misty shook her head.
"And you don't like Ash. Is that so?"
Misty bit her lip.
"No, I don't."
-
"Open your eyes."
Misty opened her eyes. She found herself in a restaurant. The waiters were all looking at her, smiling.
No client was around. In the middle, there was a table with candles and flowers, and it had Ash's last name on it.
"Ash?" She turned around. "Is it what I think it is?"
"I booked the whole place." Ash smiled.
"You did what—oh my God!" Misty put her hands over her mouth. "It probably cost a fortune!"
"I think this night has no price at all." Ash grabbed Misty's hand. "Because I'm asking you to be my girlfriend, Misty."
Misty beamed.
"Yes!"
