The first thing Harry saw was the soles of Louis's shoes. Throwing the flowers aside Harry ran up the stairs and into the bathroom, falling to his knees as he called out Louis's name. Gently turning him over he saw the dried green bile down Louis's chin and neck which had also crusted on the blue dinner jacket. He felt a lump protruding from the right side of Louis's forehead.

"No, no, Babe. Wake up, please. Wake up, Lou."

Harry checked that Louis was breathing and then put his fiancé into recovery position before taking out his mobile and phoning for an ambulance.

Harry stayed on the phone with the emergency operator as she calmly gave him instructions whilst he gave information about Louis and the accident.

"Thank God. I can hear the sirens." Harry gasped.

The medics came into the house and rushed upstairs assessing the situation whilst asking Harry questions.

"Drugs, overdose. No of course not." Harry cried. "Louis would never hurt himself deliberately."

The medics insisted he search again.

"No there are no pills," Harry told them after checking Louis's room, the lounge and the kitchen. "He was drinking. I think he must have fallen and hit his head."

Harry continued answering their questions. "No – Louis doesn't do drugs. Yes, there was two empty bottle downstairs. Umm – one was wine, the other vodka. I – I think they were both full."

Harry's stomach dropped when he saw the look the medics gave each other.

When they asked how long Louis had been unresponsive, Harry told them he didn't know and that's when he lost it and broke down in tears.

"Please help him. Please tell me he's going to be alright."

He watched the medics put Louis on a stretcher and carry him down the stairs. As soon as the front door was opened, Harry heard the shutters click before seeing the camera flashes. Climbing into the back of the ambulance, he nervously watched the medics attach an IV and start reading Louis's vitals. Harry went to take his mobile out to call management and the boys, but he was stopped from using his phone.

When Harry heard the words, "Stats are dropping." He watched in horror as they put a tube down Louis's throat and then attached a blue pump which they squeezed every two seconds.

"Louis!" Harry screamed. "What's happening? Why isn't he breathing?"

Hugging his knees to his chest, he started to rock as he cried a mantra of "no, no- no."

One of the medics wrapped a blanket around Harry's shoulder, then squeezed him lightly and talked to him in a soft tone. He explained that the oxygen therapy was assisting Louis with his breathing in case there were any problems. He talked calmly, asking Harry questions and when it looked like Harry was back in control, both medics joked about them being famous and asking if they were now going to be in the morning's newspapers. Harry knew they were trying to lighten the mood and get his mind off just how serious the situation was.

As soon as the back doors of the ambulance were opened, Harry jumped out and then stepped out of the way. Speed dialling management to inform them of the situation, he then rang Niall.

It was 4 am and apart from the Paps that had followed them to the hospital, there were no other reporters around. Harry had no love for the Paparazzi, especially as they were the reason he was late arriving home in the first place. But then he couldn't put the blame all on them. He was angry with himself for not first phoning Louis about the situation instead of making his fiancé worried sick. He was the one that walked out on Louis over such a pathetic reason, that now didn't bear thinking about. This was all his fault.

Harry paced the corridor as he waited for news. A nurse he recognized as one of them that took Louis inside, walked past Harry and he stopped her, begging to be told something. She told him that Louis had been sent up for a CT scan and when Harry asked if Louis had woken up yet, the nurse shook her head.

Niall and Liam turned up before any of their management team made it. Once Harry filled them in, he asked how bad it was outside. Niall told him it was like a circus and he had no idea how management was going to spin the story. Harry groaned and put his head in his hands and quietly cried.

There were eighteen people now in the waiting room, hoping to hear any news. When a doctor, finally came in, he said he would only speak to the immediate family. Louis's sister stood up and walked behind the dr, before turning and signalling for Harry to follow.

"Louis has alcohol poisoning," the doctor told them, "but he's responding well to treatment. His blood pressure is back up now, but he's going to have to stay on the IV for a few more hours. The CT scan didn't show anything worrying but we want to keep him in for observation because of the head trauma. Mr Tomlinson is still unconscious, but it shouldn't be too long before he wakes." The doctor looked at both of them. "I'm sorry but only one person can go inside for now."

"You go," Harry said. "I'll let everyone know what's happening. Come and get me when he wakes up."

Kissing Harry on the head, she then leaves to see her brother.

Harry relayed the news to everyone, but when someone asked when Louis was going to wake up and another if Louis was going to be okay, Harry snapped.

"I don't know. I'm not a fucking doctor! I – I'm, shit I'm gonna be sick."

Niall ran into the toilet behind Harry and held his long curls out of the way as Harry vomited. Harry's body was shaking as he splashed cold water on his face.

"This is all my fault. I should never have left him that day." he cried.

"Stop beating yourself up," Niall lectured. "You never put that bottle in his hand. That was Louis's choice."

Harry was sitting on a chair in the waiting room with his head still in his hands but had somehow fallen asleep. Liam nudged him awake after a doctor had come in asking for a Harry Styles. Harry stood up and followed him outside. Louis was awake and demanding to see Harry and refusing treatment until he did. Harry allowed himself a small grin. Yep, that sounded like his Louis.

Harry opened the door to Louis's room and rushed inside to see him sitting up in bed with a smile on his face and his arms open, waiting for Harry's embrace.
