Olivia Vixon was framed for theft. After she was released she got a job at Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans where she met the most amazing friends she could ever have and the love of her life, Kanani.
In the truck, I hold a chicken nugget up and talk to Kanani. "Kanani." he looks over at me. "Yeah?" I look away "did you like her?" he giggles "A little why?" "Oh, I don't know just asking." "okay." I turn the radio up. "Hey, what's wrong?" Kanani asks. "What? With me?" he nods "Yeah." I raise my eyebrows at him. "Nothing!" "Okay." We continue to talk until a loud angry bark splits our conversation. "Oh, I'm sorry Junior! I give him the box of chicken nuggets and he gets quiet. Kanani honks at a dog running across the road. "OH MY GOD KANANI! GET IT!" He pulls over and gets out. "Here doggie." he shakes a treat bag. The dog snarls at him. "Kanani! Watch out!" he jumps backward "Woah this one is vicious!" "Kanani get in I'll get him." Kanani looks horrified at my decision. "Are you insane? He will bite the hell out of you!" "Oh well, I'm gonna risk it." I snatch the treats from Kanani and jump out of the truck calling out to the dog. "Here poppa! C'mere get a treat pops!" the dog eases up with his ears and head lowered to the ground growling at me untrustingly. I hold the treat out to the dog. "Here buddy... C'mon take it. It's yummy." the dog takes the treat and sits down in front of me. I grab another treat. He eases over to it and takes it out of my hands. "Yeah, good boy!" I loop the dog. "Kanani put Monster and Junior in the bed of the truck!" Kanani puts the two dogs in the back of the truck. I pick up the new dog and put him in the floorboard in front of me. "Do we have to leave them back there I don't trust it." I sigh "Okay put them back there but make sure they don't scare this one because he is not afraid to bite." Kanani nods and lets the dogs in. "What are we gonna call him?" I look at the dog. "How about Kane?" the dog's ears perk. "Okay, Kane it is!" I laugh. We get there and I put Kane in a pen. Kanani and I go to the adoption area and talk. "I'm gonna take a picture of Kane for the website." "Okay." Kanani agrees.

After the picture is taken I walk back to the adoption area where Kanani sits with Monster, Junior, and the new arrival I call McDonald's girl. She is sitting in my seat, petting my dog, flirting with my boyfriend! "Junior come." I give him the command. The girl looks at me. "Isn't he great! I'm thinking about adopting him!" I cough and give Kanani a dirty look. He doesn't even pay attention to me. Junior sits at my feet and stares at the girl. I clear my throat to attempt getting Kanani's attention. He still doesn't get it. I hear a dog yelp and another snarl. Immediately I run to the sound. Kane and another dog Claude have both escaped their pens. Kane has the dog on the ground with his mouth around his throat. "KANE STOP!" I yell. Kane immediately obeys my command and runs to his pen. I run to Claude and check him over. No serious injuries but he has a small scrape on his face. "Aww, Claudey! How'd you get out? Silly boy!" I walk him back to his pen. I see the problem. Someone didn't close his door right. I put him in the pen and turn to see the whole crew behind me asking "Is he okay? What happened?" I sigh "He's fine okay. Kane and Claude got out of their pens and started fighting." Tia looks impressed. "How did you get them to break up?" I look away "I yelled at Kane and said to stop, he actually obeyed my command and went to his pen." Tia's eyes widen. "Is Kane okay?" I giggle "Kane made it out without a scratch." Tia nods happily. "How did they get out?" I look at Claude. "Someone didn't shut his door good enough and Kane dug under the fence to get to him." "Oh, okay. Someone needs to fix his pen." no one says anything. "Jake will you?" he sighs "Yes of course." Everyone walks away. I grab Kane and put him on the leash. I walk back to the adoption area. Kanani is not there nor are the dogs and McDonald's girl is gone too. I pull out my phone and call Kanani. "Hello?" "Where the hell did you go with my dog?" Kanani giggles "To that place we went yesterday, But this time I'm with Lindsey." I growl "Are you serious Kanani?" "Uh, yes." "Why?" I can hear her laughing. "So she can spend some time with Junior." "WHAT! NO, HELL NO YOU BRING ME MY FUCKING DOG BACK RIGHT NOW!" "Are you mad?" "I AM ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS WITH YOU KANANI!" "You're on speaker." he says "LISTEN TO ME MCDONALD'S BITCH. YOU ARE GOING TO BRING ME MY DOG!" She scoffs "Yeah whatever he is my dog now. Isn't that right Junior?" I look down at Kane "Kanani do you want me to tell your mother that you are adopting out a dog without her permission? Oh, and I can also file a report on dognapping since Junior is my dog." "Okay, we're on our way." Kanani says. After a few minutes, they pull up. They both get out of the car along with Monster but there is no Junior. "WHERE THE HELL IS MY DOG!?" She laughs "He's at home in my house!" she looks at Kane who's fur hackles are raised and is barking furiously.

"Oooh, he's a feisty one I think I'll take him too!" I laugh "Yea go ahead try grabbing his collar. If he lets you, you can take him and keep Junior, But if he doesn't you have to give me Junior and leave." she laughs "I wouldn't be so confident if I were you, sweets." I look down at Kane. "Go ahead try for his collar." She reaches down for his collar and Kane lunges at her throat. She lurches backward landing on her butt in front of Kanani. I laugh "Go get my dog Kanani." Kanani nods "Okay." "Oh, by the way, my name is Lindsey, not McDonald's bitch." I tug on Kane's leash and he sits. "I'll call you whatever the hell I wanna call you." she doesn't object, she just looks at Kane in fear. She stands up but doesn't notice that Kane is watching her every move. She takes a step closer and Kane rises. Kanani pulls up with Junior and gets out of the car. Lindsey pulls out a gun and points it at me. Kane lunges at her and bites her hands causing her to drop the gun. She falls backward into Kanani. "Kanani help! He's gonna kill me!" Kanani just backs up. "I can't help Lindsey." She cries "Kanani! I thought you liked me!" Kanani laughs "Not enough to get mauled by my gir- My friend's dog!" "Kane sit!" She was stern but Kane disobeys and continues to growl at her. This time he listens "Kane sit!" only because it was me. "Now leave and don't come back." Junior sits beside Kanani and Monster looking at Kane. Kane huffs out of his nose and looks up at me. Lindsey runs to her car leaving a trail of blood to the door. "Junior come on buddy!" she calls to him. He doesn't listen. He tries to come to me but Lindsey grabs his collar and drags him to the car, throwing him in the back and speeding off with my dog. "Junior! NO!" Kanani chases after her car but can't catch up. I just sit down with my head in my hands and cry. Kane nuzzles my hands away from my face and licks the tears that stream down my cheeks. I can hear Kanani's feet shuffle on the gravel. Kane growls at Kanani. "Hush Kane it's okay I'm not gonna hurt her." I stand up and Kanani wraps his arms around me. "I'm so sorry baby." I blush "W-what?" he laughs "What? I only called you baby." and kisses my cheek. I continue to cry into his shoulder. Kane whines. "Let's go to my place Vix." "Okay."
