𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙛𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 // 𝙗𝙮𝙪𝙣 𝙗𝙖𝙚𝙠𝙝𝙮𝙪𝙣

"Kyungsoo! Kyungsoo! C'mon wake up!" Baekhyun excitedly jumps around the place running back to Kyungsoo's sleeping dog form. Baekhyun can't hide his own excitement as his eyes go back to the girl who is now on the desk of the hybrid orphanage's owner.

"Let me sleep, Baekhyun~" Kyungsoo whines as he growls a little in annoyance. Just when will Baekhyun stop expecting that every customer that comes here at the orphanage is his real owner?

"Kyungsoo! Do you think she's it? Do you think she's my—"

"Oh my gosh, he's so cute!"

Baekhyun turns to the voice and his eyes visibly twinkle, looking up at the girl and subconsciously wagging his tail.

The owner of the orphanage smiles as he opens their room.

"Yes, I actually agree. His name is Soo."

Oh.

Baekhyun's tail stops wagging. He looks down and pouts in his mind (because he can't do that in puppy form).

"But I should warn you. That dog is always snobbish. He never even pays attention to whoever tries to get him out of here."

Baekhyun sulks in a corner with the lost hope. Again.

Kyungsoo's eyes open and he blinks a lot. He feels weird.

And then she sees a lady, about to approach him, and for once in his life he feels his heart thump against his chest.

She makes him crumble. And as she gets closer, all he does is let himself close his eyes and lean to her gentle hand now caressing his head.

Kyungsoo quietly whimpers.

And Kyungsoo rarely does that.

The owner is obviously shocked with the sudden change of Kyungsoo's reaction to his possible adopters. Kyungsoo looks so approachable and nice now.

"Okay, I've decided. I'm going to adopt this one," the girl says.

"Kyungsoo.." Baekhyun nervously says, and Kyungsoo turns his head towards the puppy. "Does this.. does this mean.."

"She's my real owner, Baekhyun. I feel it.. I'm going to be okay," Kyungsoo says to him as he's being taken out their room, Baekhyun's eyes longingly following his friend.

"Will we meet again?" Baekhyun asks as he watches the girl talk to Kyungsoo in dog form, telling her name and such as she leads him to follow her in his four paws.

Kyungsoo looks at him before he's taken out by his real owner.

"We will meet again, Baekhyun."

Baekhyun pouts as he stares through the window watching the moon that doesn't seem to move at all.

The moon would always just stare at him at night and make him realize he is actually in the dark.

Baekhyun tries to stop his tears as he feels this strong feeling, this strong want to have himself feeling safe and cared for by two arms, by his real owner's arms.

He admits that he's both missing Kyungsoo and being envious of him, because after all Kyungsoo has found his real owner so easily, while he has been trying to catch all attention just to be picked to be adopted.

Baekhyun has actually been adopted many times already, but no one of them is his real owner, who is the person destined to take care of him for his whole life. His adopters only like him because he was so cheerful at first, but they didn't like everything of him.

One wouldn't like his clinginess, and the other wouldn't like his loudness. They would all just end up returning him to this orphanage, to this room.

They would only leave him after all.

So what's the point?

Baekhyun climbs the bed on the corner, which is Kyungsoo's bed, and lays down there, longingly gazing out the window again.

The stars aren't there, just like his hope.

Baekhyun starts to think that, if his real owner won't come to him, then he will come to his owner.

That's right!

Baekhyun sprints up the bed, looking out of the room and spotting the sleeping watcher. He then tries to open his room and it isn't locked.

Right. Just right.

Baekhyun hurries to grab his collar, the one with his name, and puts it in his pocket.

'I want to meet my real owner', Baekhyun thinks to himself.
