I repeat; I cannot stress the importance of consent in this chapter, but for the sake of the story, I need you to bear with me

Cara had tossed and turned all night. She had been uncomfortably hot since yesterday, and the sinful throb between her legs was impossible to ignore. She wasn't a stranger to the sensation, but she hated it.

It was all his doing. Sin. She couldn't shake the heat he had filled her body with, and now it was driving her mad as she tried to find a comfortable position on her bed.

It had been so wrong—all of it, but what was even worse, the thought of him touching her was now turning her on. She was aroused and ashamed at the same time.

Sweet God. Good Catholics didn't experience this. It simply just didn't happen. You never allowed it to get that far. You stopped it before it happened.

Cara shook her head and suppressed the tears. It was all just a trial; a trial that God was putting her through because her faith needed to be tested, and so far, she was failing. She was a whore... a whore with no self preservation.

She gritted her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut. No. He had been the one who had touched her. He had made her feel those things. She didn't want to feel them, but somehow he made her. She was a faithful Catholic. She loved God. She believed in his Word. The fact that Sin had made her forget them meant that there was nothing wrong with her, but with him. He was the problem, not her.

Maybe he was drugging her somehow? Cara started to ponder it. Maybe he wore a cologne with some sort of chemical drug that did something to women? It was ludicrous, but stranger things had happened. And he did seem like the type that got whatever he wanted when he wanted it.

And what he wanted, was her.

But he can't have me, Cara thought to herself, clenching her fist. Tomorrow when he returned to finish his business with Alistair, she would give him a piece of her mind. She just had to avoid touching him or getting too close to him. That's how he got under her skin... and skirt.

Biting her lip, she squeeze her thighs together when another wave of frustration tortured her. A cold bath hadn't helped, and for the first time, neither had prayers. It was up to her to set it right, and more importantly, set him right.

If this was a trial, then she would put her faith in God tomorrow. The power was inside her, all she had to do was tap into it.

- Jesus may have died for her sins, but there was no way she was bowing down to this Sin.

At 10am Cara walked into the restaurant, ready to face her battle. She had mentally prepared herself for him this time, so there would be no sneaking up on her today. All she had to do was wait till he arrived, allow him to conclude his business with Alistair, and then if he approached her again, she would set him straight. Plain and simple.

But as the day progressed, there was neither sign of Alistair or Sin anywhere. This was the second day Alistair had missed work, and coming from a workaholic, it was troubling. Whatever his business with Sin was, she prayed it wasn't the illegal kind - the kind that would lead a restaurant owner to abandon his restaurant and leave his staff to deal with his mess.
