Chapter Two
Now you would expect that I would say “How did you get that?” or “Put that away.” And I did.
“Okay fine,” Bucky said as he stuffed the wad back in his backpack. “But I’m going to have to tell you after school, it’s a long story.”
I ran my fingers through my dull blonde hair and looked around to see if anybody saw the money. I saw a large shadow of a man with an oddly long beard run off behind the school. I didn’t think anything of it though because I always see people running through here before and after school.
A whole day of school went by, during which I couldn’t think straight because of Bucky’s “situation”, there was no big tests though, so I was alright.
Straight after school I hauled Bucky’s slightly overweight body into a bush beside the school wall.
“We need to talk, NOW.” I demanded.
“No, not NOW, I have to show you something so you’ll believe me.” Bucky said convincingly
“Oh ya, cause the huge wad of money didn’t make any difference at all.”
“Come to my house after dinner and I’ll show you.”
Another 3 hours of horrible waiting went by, although it did feel more like 3 days, or maybe like 3 and a half hours. I do over exaggerate a lot, like 24/7. Anyways so at Bucky’s house, I rang the doorbell (I know, exciting right) but nobody answered (I know spooky right). I rang it again but still no one opened the door. I checked to see if the door was open, maybe Bucky was just listening to music while his parent’s were out. It was open so I opened it and said “Hello? Is anybody here?”
The lights were turned off so I tried the switch to my left, the light revealed a huge mess, the main table flipped over, the TV smashed, and broken antiques everywhere (Bucky’s mom collected them).
I picked up the phone and dialled 911, but the phone was disconnected. At this part in a movie the person would go look through the house instead of going to a neighbour’s house and use their phone. But something told me to look around, I went to Bucky’s room and everything was perfect, well it WAS messy, but that was most likely Bucky’s own fault.
I was about to leave and go to the neighbour’s when I saw on the bed, an envelope. It was addressed to me.
Dun dun da, the suspenseful climax of the story, what’s going to be in the envelope? How is it address to me? Why am I not ending the chapter here? Well that is because I need to have bigger chapters or it won’t sell. Don’t worry; I’ll save you the work and pain of flipping the page, back to the story!
I didn’t waste time I was too curious, I rushed over and opened it. It said this:
Dear Dave, I will now tell you how I got the money, I was digging in the junkyard, so I could continue underground to the bank.
I thought to myself, the junk yard is half a mile from the bank, I sighed at Bucky’s dumbness and kept reading.
When I was digging I found a metal box, I opened it (since it had no lock) and found a ring with an old piece of paper attached to it. The ring had a kind of styilsh h on it with a diagonal line going through the top part of it and the note only said “Press the ring” I pressed it but nothing happened, or so I thought, I soon realized that everything around me has just simply stopped. Everything, the bird above me was just floating, and a person walking by just froze. I pressed it again and the universe continued. Yes, I robbed a bank with it, no one even noticed, at least i thought that. Armed men just broke the door down and took my parents, as they came for me I grabbed the ring and froze them (I know smart move right). I am now going to run away and continue time.
Sincerely your friend,
Bucky

What Bucky did was actually surprisingly smart, I didn't know what the stylish h meant but I knew the last part was our code, the code was the alphabet switched around, so A was Z, B was Y and so on. I translated the code. It said “Meet me at junkyard”
