I am running. Running from it. Running from the creature who desires my blood. My soul. My heart. My... Me. My legs are moving without any thought from my part; just running to stay alive. Pure adrenaline pulses through every cell in my body. My heart, fluttering inside me at an irregular, or so it seems, pace. Like a butterfly caught in a spiders web. Blocks of houses race past me. Memories throw themselves, assaulting the very essence of my sanity. My mind is full of images of him; I can’t put a name to the face because I don’t have the name that belongs to it, neither the whole memories of him. Every memory is tainted with his face. My vision is clouded with memories and thought and yearning for him. The emotions are too much. Fear, pain, yearning, heartache, fear, pain... Tears roll down my face, and sobs swell from my throat. My legs buckle beneath me. The sound of its feet on the street behind me are getting closer and slower. It is here for me. I am quite obviously going to die. I can feel it’s breath on the back of my neck. My eyes press shut, awaiting death. I hear it hiss victoriously, as my legs finally give in completely. As my head crashes into the tarmac of the street, everything goes dark.
