Okay now that you're probably either wondering why the hell I wanted to tell you about the sudden silence. Let me explain something to you all. Imperial Beach isn't famous. I lived there for many years but it's still a beach town which makes it very important. When it suddenly goes silent, you know something is wrong or about to happen. Now here's the weird thing, nothing happened. Nothing.

Who cares right? Let me move on to how I met the boy. The one who saved me you know? Yeah him. Anyway. Here's what happened that day.:

I walked along doing my so called "perimeter check" and decided all was okay. I went down to the beach and sat down in the soft and almost fluffy sand.

Night is the best time for wave watching. If you're lucky you'll get splashed. Depends how close you would like to sit. I like to sit right were the water barely reaches. I stick my feet out and lay down.

While I'm in the middle of counting the stars I hear a couple voices behind me. Distant. Yet close.

Two teenage boys were in a very heated argument. I creeped up in order to hear what was going on. They're on the pier and I'm right below it. I'm not being creepy, just curious.

"LUKE THIS IS RIDICULOUS!" The boy with blue hair screamed.

"NO ITS NOT MICHAEL!" The boy with blonde hair that stood up said.

"WE CAN'T STOP TOUR BECAUSE YOU HAVE A 'FEELING' THAT SOMEONE NEEDS HELP!" The Michael guy screamed. Well I'd have to disagree with him. If people need help they need help.

"Mike. Hear me out."

"You know what no Luke. Come back to the bus when you're done being selfish." Michael said storming off.

Luke sighed and sat in MY spot. I wanted to go and push him into the water but I decided that was a bad idea. I went and sat next to him.

He stared at me for a moment and was awe struck for some reason. We looked at each other for a good minute and he turned away.

"Let me guess, you heard the argument?" He said putting his head in his hands in shame. I just nodded. I can't decide if I can talk to him or not. "I'm sorry if I disrupted you, it's just... you probably wouldn't get it."

"I do." I said and then slapping my hand over my mouth. Did I just speak to him?!

"How so?" He said while his now blood shot eyes looking unbelievably blue. I looked down. I can't tell him. He cannot be trusted. "I'm sorry again." He said standing up but I grabbed his arm. Great job, you look psychotic.

"I'm just uh.... shy. Sorry." I said realising his arm. He smiled and sat back down.

"I'm Luke by the way." He said holding out his arm for me to shake. "What's your name?"

"Names are a label given to us throughout our lives and I don't believe in using my own because I get labelled enough." Again, WHAT AM I DOING?!

"You're really deep." He said pulling his arm back.

"Who do you need to save Luke?" I said making sure to make direct eye contact.

"That's the thing mysterious girl, I don't know." He said running his hand through his hair. Why am I so attracted to him?

"I get that."

"How?"

"I'd rather not tell all my personal secrets to a boy who stole my wave watching seat."

"Oh uh..."

"It's fine. Are you a musician?"

"How did you..."

"The other boy, Michael I think you said, that you're not stopping tour."

"I'm lead singer in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer."

"Sounds fun."

"It is. It's just stressful. I'm only 17 so I almost feel like I'm too young to handle it."

"I'm 17 too. Only I do things you can't imagine. Not illegal of course just..."

"Different."

"Yeah. Exactly."

It got silent for awhile after that. I wanted to say something but I couldn't find the words. He left me speechless. We watched the waves and if I were a stranger I probably would've thought we were dating. Only, I don't date. Especially not 17 year old superstars. Just a preference. I decided to mess with Luke a bit. I splashed him and he started cracking up.

He splashed me back and I squealed a bit. I ran towards the pier and he chased after me. Laughing, we ran down to the very end. Avoiding fishermen and small children. Once I got to the end, I felt something strong lightly wrap around my waist.

"GOTCHA!" Luke screamed spinning me around. I continued to laugh my head off until I realized Luke was about to kiss me.

"Um I should uh go. I'm sorry." I said realising myself from his grip. His face fell a bit and I felt unbelievably guilty. I continued to walk down the pier and I heard someone running behind me. Ugh Luke come on.

"Please tell me I can see you again." He said shoving his hands in his pockets.

"I'll try." I said walking away again.

What was it with Luke? Why did I feel such a strong bond to him? Have I met him before? All I know is, that was the most fun I've had in years. Since... Since it happened.
