I love the smell of salt water in the morning. The way the waves move across the sea floor, the seagulls flying over my small home squawking to say 'Hello'.

I roll over, coming face to face with Luka. He's a sea otter that tends to stay in my home during the cold seasons. I can't help but laugh with how he's trying to lick across my face.

"Haha, move Luka!"

I say nudging him away from my face. He makes a yipping noise before waddling out of the bedroom. I sit up groaning. For some odd reason my entire body has been feeling like it got hit by a raging minotaur. From my head to my feet it's really warm but it aches.

"Eh- Do I really have to nymph today..."

Being a sea nymph isn't all that fun. A giant amount of people think it is but it's really not. I don't mind taking care of the mammals, or cleaning up my rightful land but the way the humans take care of it? I can't stand it. The pollution is the absolute worst!

They don't care whether or not the creatures inside of it or need to drink the water survives or not. They kill whales for a sport and more. It pains my heart to see what they do, and I can't wait to cause the back fire... but that's for another day.

Enough of those thoughts I have things to do, sadly. I get out of bed and walk to my wooden dresser, and grab a light green and tan dress to throw on. I don't wear shoes cause they're pointless in this land. Who wouldn't want to dig their toes in the sand or salty sea? After tossing on my dress, I brush my redd-ish brown hair and pearly teeth. I pass by the mirror when I get to thinking.

'I wonder why sea nymphs are so... not normal.' I'm around 5'8, petite, yet still have soft curves. The Male sea nymphs are usually taller than 6'2, same with the titans. The females however are pretty short. Under 5'5 and also complain a lot, not including their anger issues. You know what they say; the shorter you are the closer to Hades but the taller you are the closer to Zeus.

Blue eyes run in the family buuuuut I got the recessive gene of green eyes. Light green eyes at that, almost gray. Softly tanned skin to go along with the rest of me. Yay.

I hear squeaking and paws galloping around in the kitchen area outside my door. Luka is probably chasing his lizard or something... yes I know, two unlikely friends but it happens. Walking outside my room all I can see its scuff marks of dirt all over the kitchen floor followed by little droplets of water. They just had to make a mess didn't they?

"Luka! Lizard guy I haven't named yet! Come here please!"

Here they come. Covered in dirt and throwing water droplets everywhere. They both glide in front of me before being able to get a grip of the floor. Luka trips over his own floppy feet where the little lizard hops right over him and landing into a wall. Once again I couldn't help but laugh, it's so cute!

"Why did you have to get the kitchen dirty? You just made tracks through the company area too! You're so lucky this isn't a wool ground."

Their heads bow knowing they've done wrong and slowly walk over to the rags by the back door. This isn't the first time and it surely won't be the last. I can honestly say having a gift to communicate with animals and mammals comes in handy. It makes our lives easier.

"I want this cleaned up before I get back okay? Let's not make this an all day thing."

They begin cleaning the kitchen floor as I walk to the front door to leave to do my duties.

"I will see you both when I get back!"

A squeak and a hiss noise echoes through the house right when I shut the door. Hopefully they won't get distracted, I know Luka does but I'm not to sure about his friend...

My daily duties contain watching the waters, the mountain I live on and to keep trespassers out. Zeus gave me this land since my family didn't want anything to do with me since I wasn't the so called 'true face of a nymph' all because I don't have their exact features. I don't have their overly pointy ears nor their thin and strong facial features. I can't help I got recessive genes.

Anyways, trespassers aren't common. Before you get to my mountain there's raging winds and violent storms. Whoever can get through that has to get through me and trust me, it's not easy.

As I follow the path to the beach in front of my home I feel like something is off. I look up to the sky and see small clouds around. Usually there's not any clouds so this is new... the clouds are only covering the sea as well. Not the land.

A sharp pain consumes my body causing me to hit the ground. I can hear my heart racing in my ears. The wind is starting to pick up while the clouds start to come in quicker. My head feels like it's on fire and so does my skin. Even though it hurts, I have to get up to protect my home. To protect this land and the ocean that I'm in charge of.

I barely get to my feet, making the pain get worse... this isn't supposed to happen. I gather all of my strength and run as fast as I can down to the beach. Looking around in front of me the water is starting to form huge waves, The trees are swaying much harder and the sky above me is darkening.

I plung into the water and dive down to as far as I can to see if anything is coming from the bottom of the sand floor. A red and gold looking light are causing cracks. A loud explosions comes from that spot causing me to shoot up to the top of the water. My ears are ringing and my vision is beyond blurry.

I turn around, and before I can do anything to try to help a dark water spout comes out from the spot the explosion came from. A darkness rose out of the dark pit. Him.

This is impossible.

Soooo this is my second book. I have my other on hold because I'm having trouble writing it so I decided to start fresh! I'll be updating more often too so that's a plus.
