The brightly sapphire colored sky was painted with fluffs of white, all seemingly like marshmallows. The green aquamarine sea seemed to compliment the sky's never-ending look. The wooden auburn port was decked with a ship. In his eyes it was enormous, beautifully seeing the flag wave in the wind, it's dance was calm and had rhythm.
"Hey son, there's something I need you to do for me. A favor!" The man's voice wasn't rough but it was manly. A wide smile crossing his face.
The young boy glowered. "Argh." He looked down not wanting to face his father, eyes staring at the cobblestone grey path. "But, dad, how come you have to leave?" A larger hand patted his head; making him look up, only to see his father smiling at him.
"Simple my son, adventure is calling me once again." The man who seemed to be only in his early thirties turned and walked down the harbor. His footsteps were echoed out by the sound of his crew-mates cheering and laughing. "But, for now, just take care of your mother and sister for me. You need to promise that, because I'm sure that one day, adventure will call you too." He said with a smirk as he put up his hand and waved.
The young boy jumped up, making his hand-made hat fall down and revealed his dark midnight black hair. The kid's bright black onyx eyes stared at his father and ran towards him. His once moody eyes that held back tears gave up, he started crying, one tear after another, after a while he yelled, "IF WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE! THEN COME BACK REAL SOON!"
His father nodded and smiled looking back at him. "I promise... Kenji." Soon after stepping onto the ship, he sailed. He sailed into the endless sea, the image of seeing his father leave and the smile that was printed on his face, yeah, it seemed to never leave Kenji's mind; not even years after.
