Walking over to the creaky wooden door, the mother motioned to the three teenagers to hurry along and follow her. They walked past the small lush forest with it's bright smell of bark. The wind breezed by them as they looked at each other in wonder and excitement.
"This surprise, would be... no, it has to be the best one that's happened to you three so far!" The mother spoke with confidence as they neared the old village. Already being greeted by others, and getting compliments on how fast they've grown up. "Yes, yes. You've three are all grown up now, you will all become great pirates. It is your dream after all..." she added softly, she knew that she was on the point of crying. But, she forced the tears back.
As they walked to the port, Kenji and Ryuu couldn't stop trying to guess what the surprise would be. On the other hand, Hikari had a somewhat of an idea of what it could be. She sighed heavily, if it was that, then, how would everyone feel? It would be hard to leave, wouldn't it? There were many questions but she shrugged it off and started to go on guessing with the dumbfounded idiot duo.
There was a moment where the siblings' mother felt and thought about those questions, as though she had read Hikari's mind. What if they don't return? No, no, no! Get yourself together; they're grown up now. And they are strong and they will return! The mother couldn't help but think about the dangers that they will go across, it was dangerous. An adventure, but, what scared her the most is that... what if they don't return... like their father hadn't?
The trip seemed to take forever, Ryuu was hungry again and he was whining about despite almost eating the whole dinner. Kenji was tired, he was about to fall asleep. Training had been hard that day and it took up lots of energy; Hikari can put up a battle sometimes. Hikari showed the most maturity from the three, she never remembered their home being so far away from their village. She swept away a lone strand of chocolate brown hair from her face and sighed.
The sun had already set as they arrived, all mouths dropped, eyes widened and for a moment they were frozen, absolutely still. Unsure of whether to speak or not. And then the mother's eyes softened and she smiled at their reaction, along with a slight giggle. But there it stood with it's sails dropped, white and blank; it was made out of dark wood and the lookout tower stood high in the sky. The anchor hung outside of it, holding it in place but it still swayed. Who would've known? Who would've guessed that there was a pirate ship right in front of the teens' eyes.
"M-mom..." Hikari couldn't find the words, "a-are you serious!? How did you afford this, and I mean how much trouble did you go through?" She was now fidgeting with her fingers unsure on how to feel, Hikari was one that didn't want to leave her mother's side. "WAIT! How did you get this here!? What about everyone else in town, did they approve?" Now she was a nervous, astonished and excited wreck.
"It's alright Hikari, don't worry it was all right. Either way, you children do deserve a prize for your hard work..." her mother spoke before being tackled with a hug from Kenji.
"Thank you! Thank you, thank you! THANK YOU!" He out of everyone was the most excited, Kenji wouldn't shut this mouth, he kept pointing out how big the ship was and kept thanking his mother. "It's HUGE!"
Ryuu sighed and smiled, thanking the sibling's mother as well but not as crazy like Kenji. "Although, are you sure that we can keep this? Are you sure that you're ready for us to go on an adventure?!" Practically like Hikari but more excited and not anxious.
"Of course, you all are teenagers now, and I believe that you're ready to go on your own adventure. But you'll have to get the supplies yourself... though that'll have to wait till tomorrow! It's dark and it's going to be a long day for all of us..." She spoke with enthusiasm but also bit of sadness.
They all walked together, Kenji and Ryuu chanted on being pirates and Hikari was with her mother chatting on how much fun it would be. Now the moon glimmered in the sky, along with it's starry companions; it was beautiful. The navy blue sky, the moon, the stars, the ship, the training, the happiness. It was all perfect.
