I trudge out of bed on monday morning and head to the basement to find Trent. He is basically living with us now. My parents are ok with it as long as I am not in the basement at night. My parents also check on me occassionally at night because they are over protective like that.
I shake Trent awake. It's 7 in the morning and school starts at 8.
He doesn't budge.
I push him and basically roll him onto his back and he still doesn't move. I check his chest and see that he is breathing. Little stinker. I push him off the bed and onto the floor.
"Owwwwwwww," he cries.
"That's what you get for messin' with me. School is important, and you can't miss it!"
He stands up and yawns, then basically crawls up the stairs and brushes his teeth. I am doing my makeup. He throws on his shirt and heads to the living room to go back to sleep.
When I am finished getting ready, I wake him up at 7:45 and off we go to school.
The morning is dreadful, like a typical monday morning. Even the teachers seem exhausted and so out of it. I try my best to concentrate and constantly think to myself, I will see him at lunch. I will see him at lunch. I will see him at lunch. Ten more minutes.
When the bell finally rings for lunch break I rush to the lunchroom and grab a fruit salad and grape juice. I sit down and wait for Trent. When he finally starts to walk to my table, I smile and he walks a little faster, throwing his tray down on the table.
Two pieces of pizza, a taco, and cheetos. Real healthy.
"Nice lunch you got there," I eye him with a grin.
"Thanks, I'm starved, and for you...well, whatever pleases you."
I laugh and we finish lunch in what seems like 5 seconds. But as we dump our lunch trays, he grabs my hand and leads me to the janitors closet.
"What are you doing! I have to get back to class!" I plead.
He looks at me with a certain determination in his eyes and before I know it his lips, pressed against mine, my fingers running through his silky hair. We get so carried away that the late bell rings and I eye him with fear.
"I have never been late to class before," I say.
"Chill, it'll be alright. I'll walk you there," he says.
I smile at him and we start our walk to my calculus class. Once we arrive he hugs me and says,
"See ya later beautiful,"
I blush as he heads down the hall, to whatever class he has next.
What is he getting me in to?
I finally manage to make it to my last class of the day, literature. I eye Trent in a spot next to my usual spot, and I smile as I set my books on the wooden desks.
"You finally made it. I thought another hobo would drag you into the janitor's closet and make out with you," he says.
"You are not a hobo!" I reply.
"You just keep thinkin that." he says.
AsI struggle to take notes as the teacher is talking, I feel a warm hand lay over mine. I look over and see Trent staring ahead like nothing is wrong. A warm shiver runs through my body as I interlock my fingers with his. He slightly smiles, but tries to hide it.
But I saw that smile.
