When I enter school the next day, I can't catch any glimpses of Trent. I search for him at lunch, but I can't catch a sight of him at all. I eat lunch alone. When I get to literature class, I see that he isn't in his normal spot. In fact, he isn't in any spots at all. He must be sick today, I think to myself.

By the end of the week, with still no glimpse of Trent, I start to worry. On my ride home from school on friday, all I can manage to get my mind to think about is where he might be. Did something tragic happen? Where could he be? Then, an obvious thought pops into my head. His number! I remember, I threw it on my dresser because I was almost positive it was a fake number. Why would this bad boy talk to me? Well, I was willing to take my chances. I had to know what was going on.

When I enter my home, I zoom up to my bedroom and find the small piece of paper crumpled up on my dresser, right where I left it. I grab it and hurriedly type the number into my contacts. As soon as I have the number set as Trent, I text it.

Me-Hi, it's Malea

I nervously wait for a reply.

It's almost an hour before the number texts back.

Trent-Hey, it's Trent :)

Me-Where have you been this week!?

Trent-Out...

Me-No, please, tell me!

Trent-I can't trust you yet. Hey, I have to go. See you monday.

Well, I don't blame him for not trusting me. He barely knows me. But still, what could be so serious that he can't tell me why he hasn't been at school for the past week? I just hope he's not in trouble. He seems to be the rebellious type. Maybe he got in trouble with the cops?
