AJ got into the car where Reese was waiting for her.
"Thank you for bringing me today and taking me tomorrow God willing."
Reese smiled at her and said, "anytime."
He started the car and then they headed back to Pula, where Moani's house was situated.
AJ prayed again as Reese eased into the traffic. When she finished, she asked him if she could change the station on his radio set. She fiddled with it until it was placed on a Christian channel. AJ started to bob her head to the tune of God's not dead by Newsboys.
Reese smirked in her direction.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing. Since we won't get to Mo's in quite a while, how bout you tell me how you met both her and Moses."
Reese lowered the volume of the radio that was now into the song as AJ scrunched up her face in concentration, her tongue sticking out of her mouth.
'On the radio: " God's not dead He's surely alive. He's living on the inside roaring like a lion..." '
"Okay," she pushed up her glasses with a smile.

"So, when I was a child, I used to follow my older brother a lot. When he came home from pre-school, I stayed very close to him and picked up on his work."
"What do you mean by picked up?" He interrupted.
"Well the person who watched me said I was a very smart kid and that I tried saying the same stuff he was saying just so I could go to his class."
Reese burst out into laughter while AJ hid an amused grin behind her palm.
"It isn't funny," she said in mock anger.
"Oh I can just imagine baby AJ speaking baby gibberish just so she could be in her big bwother's cwass."
She smacked his arm and settled back into the chair, arms crossed
Reese's stopped laughing and pleaded with her, "please continue."
"Fine," she sighed dramatically.
"When I was like ten, my brother was like eleven and a half, the school gave my class a early promotional test. If you passed, you continued the rest of the school year in that grade. A lot of people in my class passed including me and we were placed in his class."
"So you guys were like geniuses or something?"
AJ shrugged. "But, I got what I wanted," she replied with a smile.
"You did."
"Then in came Moani."

"We weren't best of friends at first but after a term, she started getting closer. We were three; Ani, Jane and me, the very best of friends. Moani had become quite popular and we were pulled up with her. It didn't help that both Jane's brother and mine were right up there too. I had a hard time adjusting to the constant conversation with girls who didn't seem to care about me just maybe my connections."
"Wow," Reese breathed out. "So what about Moses?"
She smiled,"Mayo came a year after that. He stayed for 3 years and left after our IGCSEs. He was such a great person and when Jane and her family moved country, he was there for Jason. He's real smart too."
"Yeah," Reese pulled up in front of Moani's house.
"What really happened between Ani and your brother?" AJ asked softly.
Reese rubbed his face with his hands. "Charles more of the relationship than Mo was willing to give. He moved out of our house and cut of communication with us all. My parents blamed Mo and she isn't allowed into our house anymore. I'm the only who never stopped talking to her."
AJ's eyes had a thin film of water over it when she reached over to hug him. "Thank you for being there when I was not," she mumbled into his shirt with a quiet sob.
Reese rubbed her back and they stayed that way for a moment oblivious to the world around them.
"I'm sorry for that," she said with a tiny laugh cleaning her eyes. "That was totally unplanned."
"Anytime."
"Thanks again and bye," and with that, she was off.
