The Lookback

Cyrus POV:

It was a few days after netting everyone at the spoon for dinner. I didn't talk to any of my friend this weekend that is for one person. The last person I thought I would be talking to at this point. It was TJ Kippen of all people the captain of the Jefferson Middle School Team. It was something new something different, talking to him like I did before it didn't feel like I had people judging me for the things I like, Singing songs at the park about swings and slides. One thing I learned is that he is nice and caring to me at least but is it just me? Is he only nice to the quiet nerd guy who loved the James Bond clothing line. Or is it just to me? It can't just be me bit could it be?

I hear a voice say Cyrus very softly so I ignored it tell. Cyrus I've been calling you for like five minutes can you stop walking. I was scared to turn around cause I knew that voice, it was Buffy. Did she find out that I was talking to TJ all weekend?

Cyrus she says again

Yes? Buffy

You have been distant this weekend is everything ok?

Yes. I say with an annoyed voice . Just reading that's all.

Cyrus she says I know something is on your mind. TJ said you were at the park yesterday.

Crap I'd say out loud hoping I didn't it was loud and open.

What she said looking confused.

Nothing I say see you later Buffy slay practice today.

Buffy POV:

What? I say as Cyrus ran off, he also said slay practice? Does he not know school hasn't even started this morning. Something seems off about him. But I can't put a finger on it tell I see Andi walk up to me smiling holding hands with Jonah.

Hey. Andi smiles with her signature smile. Then I see Jonah's smiles seems so cute but fake like most Fruit on TV sets in shows.

Jonah then breaks the silence where's Cyrus? I look at him confused cause I wasn't thinking about Cyrus because all I can see is TJ talking to someone, someone shorter than him so I could not tell who it was. I turn suddenly and see it was Cyrus. Found him I tell Andi and Jonah as we walk the opposite way of the boys.

As the school doors open the kids get into the school and head to their opposite hang out spots before class starts. Cyrus sits in the cafeteria looking at his phone at Instagram newsfeed and liking all sorts of random photos as he waits for his friends. He looks up suddenly and sees and Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin with a smile sitting down across from him.

The boy across from him is TJ so underdog thanks for not saying you were talking to me this weekend I didn't know how I was going to talk to Mr. Colman about my dyscalculia with out sounding kinda dump. TJ says. So the Muffin in a thank you? Cyrus says. I was kinda hoping I would be that easy the tall boy says. Don't worry TJ thanks and no problem. Are you going to talk to him today about it? Yes underdog I will. Cyrus then smiles as TJ gets up and walks away.

Andi POV:

So Buffy you know what we should do after school today? We should go to the flea market I want to get a center piece for Bex and I to Propose to Bowie tonight. Andi she says I have something to tell you? Go for it I say with a big smile on my face. I know I'm back for at school now and there is the basketball team but I'm not joining it again. Is it because of TJ? No I got premonition to start a girls team, what do you think about that. Buffy that's so amazing who all knows? Well just you I was going to tell Cyrus this morning but he was out of it and then he was talking to TJ before school and in the cafeteria and the conversation seemed more important. Buffy says with a look on her face I've seen only other time the time she got mad at Cyrus and I for making the Timless Capsule before she went to Arizona months back. I'm sure it's nothing to bad who knows . Yeah who know she says in a faint voice.

Cyrus and I walk into the gym where the basketball games. Be right back he says saying getting something out of my locker. I look around with a smile on my voice as I hear a patter of a basketball. TJ I say Buffy I see you are back here and I see you are still here with a ball. Yeah it is a basketball court he says wanna play? No not with you. I say. I did get into trouble with cheating you know. Yes I know but it doesn't make me feel any better TJ don't you get it. Buffy there is a way we can both play basketball on this team you says TJ .

Hey you guys playing basketball as we hear Cyrus . Not there yet Cyrus TJ says. Oh sorry. I'm guessing those are my gym clothes? Uh yeah, Cyrus says taking the bag from him. That was a sucky persuasion guys I say walking away to the girls locker room to change. This is why we should of rehearsed Cyrus says as I shake my head. Cyrus? TJ says at least it worked.

TJ POV

7 to 7 win by 2 Buffy says and Cyrus looked so confused. See I am so confused but uh yeah what Buffy said Cyrus whispers with a confused face. Buffy and I bicker fir a minute or two then she makes the first point then she makes another . So I put my all into it. I can see this is taking longer than Cyrus wanted but I wanted to play my hardest and my best in hopes this plan of his would work because I care about him. Cyrus keeps score Buffy 7 TJ 4. After a while with going back in fourth with trying to Hager the ball into the hoop Cyrus gives up and lays down and takes a nap on the bleachers that is probably not ver comfortable. Awhile longer Buffy says I Win . Cyrus slowly rubs up or it feels slow and hugs Buffy. He tells her I knew you'd win. Buffy looks so confused and he explains that it was a plan to get you and TJ to play on the basketball team and it worked. Cyrus says looking so happy.

Buffy POV:
Ok I say. But I'm not going back on the team even though it worked. The thing is I asked to get an all girls team for the school and I wanted to wait to say and thing tell I knew it was a done deal and it is, I'm starting a girls basketball team.

Cyrus, TJ snd I talk tell I hear do you forgive him Cyrus says. I think I already have but I don't think we can be friends. What about an apology Cyrus says it have to be the worlds best one. TJ the take a walk up and says fine. "If you're looking for a capital her name is Buffy Driscoll. Gonna start a girls team and make that is official. She'll steal your ball so fast that you'll wanna bring the police. Tell them if got taken like she's Liam Neeson. The slickest, sickest, quickest, the most wished in the world. Used to hate her, instigate her told her goons job fur a girl. I didn't want to hear it but she taught me all the sane. If you want to change the world then you got to change the game." Wow I say was that not the best apology ever Cyrus says. Yes I think you are right I smile. Are we good TJ asked. Yeah I think we are. Cyrus screamed like a little girl of course. I'll see you around TJ said as he started walking away. Then he stoped and looked back say say I'm so confused, then I hear Cyrus says you think your confused take a look at what's going on my heard. We then look as he says you think you know someone. Then I say tell you realize you don't.
