A couple of months later, Joo Jiyeon couldn't take the hate any longer. She tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists on November 16th, 2018. She was stopped by a group of close friends by the names Huang Justin, Cho Miyeon, Song Yuqi, and Lin Yanjun. Luckily, they had found her in time before she lost too much blood. She was sent to Shanghai National hospital where she was met with huge crowds of paparazzi. The family and friends of Joo Jiyeon respectful asked if they could have a couple of months in silence for Jiyeon to recover.
