Second Walk

"Ginawa ko na ang lahat 'di pa rin sapat."

There was no constant in the world. But loving her was constant.

She's the ocean I'm willing to dive in, even if there was no assurance of surviving. Handa akong itaya ang lahat para sa kanya.

"Shawn! Good morning!" She smiled.

"Good morning." I open the door for her and she immediately stepped in.

I drive the car when she's done putting her seatbelt.

After a minute, she tugs my shirt. Sandali akong lumingon sa kanya.

"Samahan mo ako sa National Bookstore mamaya, please?"

"What for?"

"Birthday ni Nicolas sa isang linggo. I want to make an explosion box for him."

My jaw clenched. Ah. Siya na naman. "What if he doesn't accept your gift again?"

"Then I won't back down again."

Why she's always like this? Nag-e-effort sa taong hindi naman siya pinapahalagahan.

Why not me? Paano kaya kung sabihin ko rin na birthday ko next week? Would she put effort for me too? Malabo ata 'yon. Bakit kasi ginawa kong mundo ang taong kaibigan lang ang turing sa 'kin? Saklap.

"Pretty please, Shawn? Samahan mo na ako. I need you."

I sighed. Ano pa bang magagawa ko? Alipin ako ng babaeng ito. "Okay."

"Yehey!" She clapped her hands like a little girl.

A smile form on my lips when I felt her joy. Her happiness is my happiness too. Even though I'm not the reason of her happiness.

Binuksan niya ang radio and happily jumped on her seat when a familiar music plays.

"Sing with me, Shawn!" I laughed and sing with her.

Then she suddenly stops singing and looks at me.

"Why?" I asked.

She should stop looking at me like that - na para bang ako ang mundo niya.

Mas lalong bumibilis ang tibok ng puso ko sa klase ng titig na binigay niya.

"Ang ganda ng boses mo," she says, almost a whispered.

I nodded. "Yeah. You want me to sing for you?"

She eagerly nods. "Sure!"

I cleared my throat. "But she said where d'you wanna go? How much you wanna risk? I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts. Some superhero, some fairytale bliss. Just something I can turn to. Somebody I can kiss. I want something like this."

I want something like this, Angel. I want you in my life. I want your hands in mine. I want to hug you without inhibitions. I want to tell you how much I love you.

Her eyes were close when I looked at her side. She's enjoying my voice, hmm? Puwede kaya niya akong mahalin dahil sa boses ko?

I sound like a desperate person.

I hope this ride won't stop. Sana hindi na kami makarating sa pupuntahan namin. Sana dito na lang kami.

But unfortunately, nakarating kami kaagad sa University.

"Thank you for singing, Shawn."

My whole world stopped when she gave me her best smile. This is the first time I saw that kind of smile of her.
