I felt my face flush and looked back down at my phone. I stood there silently avoiding his gaze as he took the persons order in front of me. Once the man in front of me moved away, I felt his eyes on me yet again. As I walked up to the stand and pulled out my Dead pool wallet from my back pocket and grasped it in my hand, hesitantly looking back up at him.
"Can I get a pretzel with no salt and a cup of cheese? Please?"
He grinned at me when I said please, and nodded his head.
"Sure, would you like anything to drink?"
His voice had an accent hooked on it, and boy was it hot. European I think? Maybe Australian? I looked at the variety of drinks he had arranged on a cooler by the cart. I perked my lips, thinking about which drink I wanted. Then rose an eyebrow and smiled when I seen the Arnold Palmer sitting there.
"Yeah, can I have a Palmer please?"
I looked at him dead in the eye and smirked at him after I looked at the drinks. I noticed him stiffening up and glanced at the cooler quickly, nodding. While he was grabbing my drink and gathering my food, I took the chance and looked him over. He had brown tousled hair that was partially covered by a snap back hat, he wore backwards but his hair came just above his hazel eyes, obviously a smile that could kill and... Oh god his body. You would think it was sculpted after a Roman god. He was wearing a pair of tan skinny jeans and a white shirt with some Aztec designs on the front of the shirt, where the sleeves came just to his elbows, showing off his fitted arms and stomach. And a pair of light brown vans to finish off the look, it made my mouth water just looking at him. After gathering my food he sat it in front of me with a smile on his face.
"That'll be $5.47 please..."
Snapping out of my trance, I handed him a $10 and folded my wallet back into my pocket, gathering my food.
"Hey, don't forget your change mate!"
When I looked up at him he had a smirk on his face, with my money and receipt in his hand. Oh...Hes an Aussie huh? I'm definitely taking advantage of this situation. I stepped back in front of him, since there was no one behind me and sat down my food on the counter. Once he placed the money and receipt in my hand, I put the change in the tip jar and took the pen that was resting on his ear, grinning from ear to ear. I gingerly wrote down my name and cell phone number on the back of it and put it back in his hand and the pen on his ear.
"Don't worry about it, Love. I'm sure you'd appreciate a good tip every once in a while..."
I gave him a wink as I gathered my food and turned away, leaving him with wide eyes and a small blush on his face, and I walked like I was on top of the world. I haven't flirted like that since I was in high school, it felt great. The further I walked away the more the food in my hands started to smell amazing. I spotted a small table for 2 sitting along the side of the board walk by the beach, and sat right down while pulling out my pretzel and cheese. I was to busy staring at the Aussie, that I didn't notice how yummy and big the pretzel looked. Tearing off a piece, I dipped the dough in the cheese and popped it in my mouth. I could feel my eyes widen and my mouth gap open. This was the best pretzel I've ever had. As I started to shovel more of it in my mouth I couldn't help but mutter out...
"Holy shit..."
"Good isn't it?"
I felt my heart leap out of my chest as the random voice came from the seat in front of me, making me grip my shirt over my heart. Just as I was about to punch the person in front of me, my face turned beat red and my eyes grew even wider than before. It was the guy from the pretzel stand. He sat with his hands held on the table and leaning toward me a bit, with a grin on his face. Before I could say anything back, another booming voice came from behind me.
"Lucas! There you are my boy, I was wondering were you had run off to!"
Before I could prepare for it, there was a big pat on my back and I knew who it was. I let out a small laugh and turned around to face my grandfather.
"Hey Gramps... I was just grabbing a bite to eat really quick before I went in to work."
"Well its looks like you made a good choice to stop at the pretzel stand. Oliver here makes some of the best pretzels I've ever had in my life."
I looked over at the guy sitting beside me, who had a shy smile on his face and was scratching his stubble. Oh my lord. I wanted to pounce on this guy.
"Well thanks Al, it means a lot coming from you."
Gramps chuckled. "I see you 2 have already met. How do you like my grandson Oliver?"
I couldn't help but blush and glance at the ground, playing with my fingers. We didn't even talk for a whole minute.
"He seems very nice. I like his style. Plus hes a very good tipper."
My head came up immediately after he said that. He grinned at me and gave me a wink. And just like that, my face turned beat red. I barley know this guy and hes making me act like I'm a fucking school girl with a crush. Gramps let out a short chuckle and patted my back again.
"Well that's good. I think its time for your training though, Luke. Say goodbye to your little boyfriend, and lets get a move on. You have alot to learn."
I don't think I've ever been so horrified in my life. BOYFRIEND?! How did he know I was... MOM! I was mentally beating her with a stick. I didn't think she would tell him so quickly. I figured he would end up finding out on his own when he seen me kissing all over some guy at the beach or walking in on me watching some gay porn... But through mom?! Really?!
"H-Hes not my boyfriend Gramps... I just met him a little bit ago."
"Well that doesn't mean that you can get his number Luke... Now lets go!"
I stood up, my face being redder than the devils ass, and started to walk away with Gramps. But something inside me made me turn and look at Oliver who was still sitting there, watching me leave, hiding a grin behind his hand.
"It was nice meeting you, Oliver. Thanks for the pretzel, it really was delicious."
"Its no problem, Lucas. Next time its on me."
With that he stood up and grabbed my hand, kissing the back of it and gave me a wink before walking back towards his now closed stand. I felt butterflies in my stomach... Actually it was more like butterflies on steriods who know how to do the Tango at maximum speed. It was official. I had a crush.
