The Snowflake that Died (Noragami FanFic)

Chapter 1: The Tradegy

"Mom, why are you leaving?" 

Yukine held onto his mother's hand for more than he can imagine. He didn't want to see his own mother leave him behind with his father. 

Yukine thought his father was the meanest man to ever exist. 

"Yukine, you'll understand when you grow up, not everyone can be together." 

"But mom, why can't you take me with you? I don't want to be with father..." 

"I'm sorry Yukine." 

Yukine never saw his mother again. He hid in his room scared of his father. 

<The Next Day> 

Yukine hesitated to step into his fathers room. When he opened the door, his father didn't notice him as he was to busy on his work. Their were papers everyone, 3 trashcans that were full and a computer. 

"Father... I-um... haven't.... ate anything... yesterday...Can you-um... make something...for me?" 

Yukine's father stood up to look at him. He stared into Yukine's eyes and could tell he was starving. 

"Get out, I'm busy." 

"But dad-!"

"GET OUT!" 

Yukine sad went back to his room. He didn't know how to cook or do anything. His mother would do it for him. The only thing to remind him of his mother was the hat his mother gave him. It calmed him down at the saddest moments. 

With nothing to do, Yukine headed out the door and sat near a convience store. 

"Sir, can you please buy me something? I'm starving." 

Everyone declined him, except for another boy. 

"Here, I'll give you 10000 yen, go buy a bento box of rice." 

"Thank you." 

Yukine cried tears of joy after being so hungry and desparate that someone would actually help him. 

"I'm so grateful." 

After the meal Yukine went home and found his father as soon as he got home. 

"Who said you could leave?" 

"Mother always let's me-" 

"Your mother isn't here anymore. Now back to your room! I'm going to send you to school so I can get rid of you, jeez can't believe I have to pay money for a brat like you." 

"I'm-I-I'm sorry..." 

Yukine fled back to his room and cried into his pillow. 

<The Next Day> 

Yukine walked to school and saw the boy he found yesterday. 

"Hey, we go the same school! But um... are you new?" 

"Yes." 

They both walked to school together in joy. 

<In class> 

"Hello everyone, we have a new student today, his name is <...>" 

Authors note: Since Yukine wasn't his name when he was still alive, his name for now is "..." for reasons. 

"Hi, I'm <...>" 

"You can sit right beside Joe there." 

Yukine proceeded to sit beside Joe, the kid who helped him yesterday. Yukine learned many new things, such as writing, and learning math. 

But many kids liked to bully Yukine. 

"I heard that kid doesn't have a mother, he's probably an adopted brat!" 

"He looks stupid." 

When Yukine was at his worst, Joe would come to his aid. 

<After School> 

"Hey <...>, you wanna come over to my house?" 

"Um, wait but... we just met yesterday." 

"It's ok, as long as your dad won't mind." 

"Alright." 

Yukine put a smile on his face and they both ran to Joe's house. 

"Mom, Dad, This is my friend!" 

Yukine said hello to Joe's mom and dad. 

They played video games for a while until Yukine noticed the clock. 

"It's 8, I should get going." 

"Kay." 

Yukine left Joe's house and headed back home. 

He knocked on the door of his house. 

"Yukine! Where were you!"

"At a... friends..." 

Furious, the father grabbed a umbrella by the door and smaked Yukine on the floor, letting his  head hit the concrete and blood fly out of his skull.
