" We don't have enough time," is all the remember the doctors say before I blacked out. They woke me up after 15 minutes.
" Mrs. Grier, welcome back, your husband will be so happy your alive." Dr. Collins said.
" No don't tell him i'm alive." I demanded. Dr. Collins eyebrows furrowed as he was confused with my words.
" Don't tell him I woke up. Keep me dead so I can run away." I insisted. I began to rip the wires off my arms but nurses came to hold me down.
" Please let me go. I can't have these people after my family." I cried. Dr. Collins ordered everyone out of the operating room.
" Dr. Collins," I said weakly.
" Please, it's Richard." He said calmly.
" I need you to get me out of this state and keep my life a secret." I explained.
" I'm sorry but that's illegal. I would be with holding medical information." He denied.
" You don't understand, the shooting was because of me. I've had people following me for over the past 3 years and I finally escaped until they came for me at the shooting. They want to kill me." I cried. Richard began to push the bed I was laying on out of the operating room to a secret patient room that apparently no one knew about.
" I'll help you but only until I think your ready to be on your own in the world. Right now you aren't emotional or physically ready." He explained.
" Your heart has just been through a traumatic experience plus you have many drugs in you."
He chuckled at the last part. He explain some more things to me but I was just in my own world. I kept thinking about how these men where gonna still find me and kill me. I didn't want them near my sweet angel Hazel or Hayes. They needed to be safe and protected which would only happen if I wasn't near them. I hid in the hospital for about a week and a half just regaining my strength. Richard was very nice and collected some clothing for me and other necessities.
" Your vitals are good and you are healthy enough to leave. I have a friend in Malibu that will keep you low key and help change your name." He explained. I am going through this because I can't put people I love in danger.
"Sophie, hey, Sophie!" Hayes was waving his hand in front of my face. I look to see the house Hayes and me bought after we first got married.
" Crazy isn't it?" Hayes whispered in my ear as I watched Sophie walk up the driveway.
" You kept it the same didn't you." I said.
" Of course, why wouldn't I? I mean I thought you were gone from me and needed to keep you still here." He rubbed my shoulder in comfort. I'm here back in my life, in reality and I can't go back now.
