"Rishi, wake up or you will be late today too. You were late on the first day itself. Be punctual to your office for a month at least." Devika Malhotra was shouting to wake up the lazy guy sprawled on the bed.
"Ma, when the C E O of the office is my respected father then what is the need to worry. Let me sleep for five more minutes." Our cute brat turned and pulled the covers over his head but as always his mother had other plans.
"So you won't leave the bed." She pulled the covers and emptied a jug of water on his head. At this sudden attack Rishi sat on the bed abruptly and looked at his mom wide-eyed.
"Ma, consider your age before doing these childish antics on me!!!" He rolled his eyes at his mom, still dripping wet.
"Oh shut up..... I am only 21."
"No ma, you were 21.... 40 years ago from today." He ran off as his mom tried to catch him.
Devika's life revolved around Rishi, her only son and her husband Sashi Malhotra. She loved her son more than anybody else ever could. Though she had a fleet of servants but she chose to make his breakfast everyday by herself. She knew that this much affection had spoiled him but she didn't care until he respected everybody and excelled in his field. Moreover though they were living in Ohio he had Indian values in him.
"Earth to my dear ma." She was snapped out of her thoughts by Rishi who clicked his fingers in front of her face.
"Ma, thinking about your to be daughter in law?" Rishi smirked.
"No, I trust your choice in that matter.... All I need is a good girl!! By the way, that girl.... Her name????... Violet... I didn't like her much." She told him as he sat down for breakfast.
"As you wish, Ma.... Who Violet... Which Violet.... I know only one Violet... The color." He said making her laugh.
"When will you think about getting married and having a family, Rishi?"
"I guess never. Ok... Just look at my hand. There are a lot of lines... Lines of luck, money, academics and even good looks.... but not one for love. When God himself has decided against it then who am I to defy it?" He got up to wash his hands.
"These are all superstitions. Some day the girl made for you will make an appearance in your life. And when she will be in front of you then you won't be able to stop yourself from falling for her... But then the girl will ignore you and you will crave for her attention." She stated as a matter of fact.
"Ma, this is not possible in this life. Rishi Malhotra ignores girls and not the other way around." He chuckled and then picked up his suit jacket.
"Anyway ma, has Mr. Malhotra left for office?" He asked.
"Rishi, mind your tongue. He is your father." She said looking angry.
Rishi kissed her and then left for work clearly not paying heed to her words.
This had always been the case. He never respected his father. Always called him Mr. Malhotra.
"What will happen to this guy???"
