Eun-Jae didn't particularly enjoy the act of going to school, in fact he found it to be particularly annoying when he had to get up, take the train, and go through the motions. However, there was a shimmering light of hope: a lavender haired boy.
The empath knew who they are of course, everyone at the middle school knew. Shinso Hitoshi, the eventual villain with a brainwashing quirk to control people with just a flip of the switch (or rather just half assed conversation on Shinso's part). As the blond walked meters behind, a small smile painted their face. The once small crush on the boy soon growing in form within the pit of his stomach; for a while he thought it would go away, a simple phase much like other crushes. But apparently, after passing through middle school and after the U.A exams, it appeared to be more than just a passing craze.
Eun-Jae, unlike the other, was on recommendation; his quirk powerful in use and in skill, but it also helped to be the son of a previous alumni now hero. His empathy could heal just as well as it could destroy.
He felt bad for Shinso, such similar quirks yet such different responses. The teen felt his gaze fall down towards the skirt he wore for his uniform; a stream of anxiety permeating through him at the sight, accidentally reaching those around the empath.
Shinso stopped in front of Eun-Jae. Brows furrowed and mouth set in a line. The sleepless boy glanced over his shoulder towards Eun-Jae, one of his classmates, a nicer one albeit but still a classmate. Instantly dread flew through him, classmates meant enemies for the most part. However, he couldn't feel the typical animosity Shinso associated with others. Anxiety flushed through him, but not by his own creation; no, this was from the empath behind him.
The lavender hair man stopped, staring back at the girl with blond hair; his eyes traveled to where she stared down at her skirt, causing a blush to dust across his cheeks.
"Ahn," he called towards Eun-Jae, his eyes never traveling to meet the golden orbs, "You... okay?" Shinso hesitated for a second before meeting Eun-Jae's sunlike eyes, his blank stare boring into the empath.
To say Eun-Jae was surprised would be an understatement. Shinso had never made contact with him before. The blond hurried forward, making it right beside the taller male quickly as he shoved a smile on his face.
"Sorry, I just started- uh" Eun-Jae stopped, tilted his head and glanced away from the bagged eyes. He couldn't say anything about what he felt, but it kept leaking out, it wasn't good for him to be this vulnerable. "I just started to get panicky about the U-A results for you," Eun-Jae lied, only partially. He was concerned but it wasn't the same.
Sometimes the easiest thing was to lie.
