I could feel the bright sun on my eyes as my alarm began to ring, i couldn't help but grown as i opened up to see my curtains had already been opened
I thank my little brother Lane for that one, he hates when its dark, so every morning he will walk through out the house and open up all the blinds bringing in the morning light. I cant even be mad though it's what makes him happy, so i don't even mention it.
I got out of bed and began to walk to my closet i picked out leggings and a loose green tank top, school doesn't deserve my good outfits so i went with this, it's comfy and man i think it's cute, so that's all that matters.
i put my long wavy hair into a messy bun, not in the mood to straighten it. Being a bruenette i personally think we dont have to wear much makeup like some blondes, no offence to blondes but since their hair is lighter it'll wash them out easier, however i did decide to apply mascara to frame my eyes.
"Oh hey cora" Lane smiled as i walked down the stairs
"Hey bud" I smiled noticing he's happy today "dad left already right?" i asked as if it wasn't a big deal
He stood as if thinking about something, his smile lost for a second before snapping out of it
"ye-yeah he left pretty early" he stuttered clearing his throat
"hey. quite thinking about stuff bud you cant let other people control your feelings, forget about dad today and just go have fun with your friends at school. ok?" I spoke giving him a reassuring smile even though on the inside i, myself didn't know how to feel
"Okay." he smiled as i nudged him a bit
"Well im gonna grab a granola bar then we can leave." i said, changing the subject
Lane and i are both in highschool, however he's a freshman and i'm a junior, so i try to look out for him but in reality he's usually the one looking out for me in any situation he's always the one to be by my side making sure im okay and everything is how it should be.
I truly love my brother, and am glad we are the way we are, he's my best friend, plus he's a real sweetheart, to me at least.
"Okay lets go bud" I yelled with a mouth full of granola getting a chuckle out of him

"CORA" my best friend mackenna yelled as i got out of my car
"MACKENNA" i yelled back as if we haven't seen each other in months when really i saw her yesterday at soccer practice
"LANE" my brother yelled, we whipped our heads to look at him confused
"what? nobody else was gonna yell my name so i had to get myself in there somehow" he shrugged walking off to his group of friends
"okkkk then.." i laughed dragging out giving mackenna a hug
"so what's the scoop?" i laughed seeing as she had her gossip face on
she makes that face ever so rarely when something big has happened
"Cohen copper is back." she spoke quickly with excitement
"woah wasn't he supposed to be expelled?" i asked suspiciously raising an eyebrow
"yeah well you know his family, always paying their way out of his problems." she said with a shrug
"well damn" i scoofed as we walked to class it was actually unbelievable how rich that family of his was
