Today was the biggest day of Percy and Annabeth's lives. Both were extremely nervous despite being best friends and partners for gods who knows how long. Yet somehow, the two still felt butterflies in their stomach. The location was on Olympus as the Throne Room was graciously redecorated for a wedding.
The decor was made by Aphrodite and Hephaestus as they agreed to work together just for the special day. The music was prepared by Apollo with the assistance of Will Solace since Percy didn't really trust Apollo's music choices after hearing Staying Alive for the fiftieth time on the elevator.
The food was arranged by Hermes and Demeter as they argued whether or not cereal should be included on the menu. It was a beautiful day with the gods busy helping out along with their children to make this day the best it could be.
Percy nervously wiped his hands on his pants as he waited for Annabeth's reveal as she was having forced "assistance" from Piper, Lacy, and Drew. Percy had also been helped out a bit by the sons of Aphrodite and even Aphrodite herself as they insisted on doing so. Percy had chosen Tyson to be his best man, although he had to explain to him what a best man is. Annabeth chose Thalia to be her Maid of Honor having been best friends since she was 7 years old.
The throne room was packed as people took their seats. Sally, Frederick, Paul, and the other mortal friends and family were given permission by the gods to enter Olympus in order to allow them to participate on this day. However, Frederick insisted that Chiron be the one to lead Annabeth down the aisle as he was the one who was more of a father figure than he was, and he admitted it so.
All of the camps were invited to celebrate, but luckily the Throne Room on Olympus expanded to fit the amount of people in the room. In the front rows sat Percy and Annabeth's family minus Athena and Poseidon who were both seated at their thrones as that was the way traditional weddings on Olympus (not that they occurred regular) were held.
Suddenly the room silenced as the throne room doors opened. Percy nervously looked and forced himself to keep his mouth shut as Annabeth was lead into the room with Chiron on her right as she rested her arm on his elbow. Annabeth had a gorgeous white dress with crystals and diamonds that added a sparkle to her dress as she walked.
Her hair was down and straightened with a small smooth wave that reached the front of her shoulders. Walking in front of her was Estelle Blofis (the flower girl) and Bobby Chase (the ring bearer) carrying a bouquet of Lotus and the rings which were gold with mother of pearl and sapphire decorating the outside.
Annabeth slowly wallked down the aisle as the wedding music played provided by the Apollo cabin. They played Pachelbel's Canon as Annabeth approached standing next to Percy. Hera was leading the ceremony being the goddess of marriage.
"We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two Olympian heroes who have done nothing but serve and protect Olympus from day one. While we may have had our differences, today is meant to celebrate the bonding of the two lovers who battled through Tartarus and back while never letting the other out of their sight, and to cherish the words which shall unite Annabeth and Perseus in marriage.
"Marriage is the promise between....." Hera went on speaking about the symbolism and yada yada about marriage.
Finally Hera turned to Percy and asked, "Do you Perseus Jackson take this woman Annabeth Chase to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in heath, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live? If so, answer 'I Do.'"
"I do," Percy said without hesitation.
Then turning to Annabeth, Hera asked. "Do you Annabeth Chase take this man Perseus Jackson to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in heath, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live? If so, answer 'I Do.'"
"I do," Annabeth said also without hesitation.
Hera continued, "If there be anyone present who may show just and lawful cause why this couple may not legally wed, let him speak now or forever hold his peace."
The room was silent as no one had objections.
Annabeth held out her hand as Percy slipped on her ring as Percy did the same for Annabeth to slip on his ring.
"By the power vested in me by the order of Olympus, I now pronounce you man and wife and what gods hath joined together, let no man or woman put asunder," Hera spoke. "You may now, Perseus, kiss the bride."
Percy wrapped his arms around Annabeth's waist as he brought her in for a sweet kiss. The whole room cheered and applauded as they stood watching the wedding of the century unfold.
It was definitely a beautiful day for the two as they feasted and celebrated the day of peace. Towards the end of the ceremony, Percy snuck Annabeth out the door as they searched for a more private setting to continue celebrating.
And they lived happily ever after, for 24 hours.
