It was a cold Halloween evening when Estelle Blofis was getting dressed for a wonderful trick-or-treat adventure with her half brother. "Percy help me get this costume on!" she called out.
Percy stepped through the door and beamed at Estelle. "Look at you, cutie," Percy smiled seeing Estelle dressed as a familiar clown fish. "That Nemo costume would make your Uncle P very proud."
Uncle P was what they called Poseidon as it didn't feel quite right to call him dad nor did it feel right to call him by his real name especially when out in public. "Gotta be the fishies!" Estelle squealed. "Where's your costume, Percy?"
"I want to make sure you're all set before I get ready myself, besides my costume is easy to put on," Percy said.
Percy helped Estelle slip into her costume before leaving to put on his own costume. This year he decided to dress up as Achilles. He already had the armor and sword needed, although he did have a fake sword so mortals could actually see it. He slipped into a pair of sandals that looked like they were from Ancient Greece and very well could be. He grinned proudly as he posed for Estelle making her giggle loudly. "You're like Hercules!" she squealed.
Percy grimaced at the name. He had bad memories with that guy even if she was referring to the fictional Disney character and not the real person. Percy lifted his sister up and smiled. "Are you ready to get going?" he asked.
"Yeah!" she smiled. "Let's go already! The candy will be gone if we don't."
Percy carried her over his shoulder as he walked out careful to duck so she didn't hit the door frame. They headed down the streets of Manhattan as they began their journey for candy. He turned into the first townhouse where Annabeth was actually staying for the time being. He rang the doorbell. When it opened Estelle yelled, "Trick or treat!"
Annabeth smiled widely and said, "Hmm, where did all the candy go? Gosh darn it, you're too late."
Estelle frowned and bonked Percy on the head. "I told you, Seaweed Brain!"
Annabeth and Percy both laughed. "She got that from you, you know."
"I must be a good influence," Annabeth said as Percy rubbed the spot where Estelle hit.
"I'm just kidding," Annabeth said laughing. "I've got just the thing for you. Come on in."
Percy set Estelle down on the stoop and they both walked inside. Annabeth grabbed a bowl filled with all sorts of candy and smiled crouching down to Estelle's level. "Choose any two of your favorite candy."
Estelle smiled widely before taking one bag of skittles and one Reese's peanut butter cup. "Sowwy for hitting you. You aren't such a seaweed brain," Estelle said with puppy dog eyes and a cute pout.
"It's okay, it didn't hurt," Percy said. "Although I think you hurt my ego."
"Maybe it could use some deflating," Annabeth smirked.
"Mmm, maybe," Percy kissed Annabeth on the lips.
"EW, cooties!" Estelle yelled. "You don't want dem Aunty Anniebef."
Annabeth giggled. "I think it might be too late."
"Oh no!" Estelle gasped.
"I think we need to move on to the next place, we'd be here all night otherwise," Percy smiled. "Do you want to come with?"
"I better man the door, come by later when you're done," Annabeth said.
"You bet I will, Wise Girl," Percy winked.
Estelle and Percy were off again heading to the next townhouse. Percy rang the doorbell and when it opened Estelle again yelled, "Trick or-"
"Estelle behind me now!" Percy yelled immediately shielding Estelle.
Two empousi stood behind the door ready to attack. Percy took out his special pen and uncapped it. "Oh Percy don't you remember us, we just want to say hi to this little one," one of them hissed.
"Kelly and Brittney or whatever," Percy glared. "You won't touch a hair on her skin."
"It's Tammi," she growled.
"Yeah whatever, stand back before you get sent back to cheerleading practice," Percy threatened raising his sword.
The two lunged towards Percy. Tammi grabbed for Percy's throat choking him as Kelly grabbed hold of Estelle. "PERCY!" Estelle cried.
Kelly held a tight grip on her wrist. Percy's eyes widened. "Leave her out of this!" he yelled struggling in Tammi's grasp. "You want me, not her."
"Aw, Percy has a soft spot for this one," Kelly laughed as she caressed Estelle's cheek.
A tear rolled down Estelle's eye as she began to shake in fear. "It'll be alright, Estelle. Don't cry," Percy said calmly.
There was a sound of a door opening and closing, but nothing could be seen. Percy lifted his arm ready to stab Tammi. "Don't you dare harm my sister," Kelly hissed. "Or I'll harm her."
"Then he's lucky he's not alone," a voice said from behind Kelly. Kelly screamed as a dagger stabbed her from behind.
At the same time Percy stabbed Tammi and they both dissolved at once. Percy rushed over to Estelle and held her tightly into a hug as she cried. Annabeth took her cap off and ran a hand through her hair. "I guess I'll come with you since there seems to be monsters out and about," Annabeth said.
"Thanks," Percy sighed.
