As the sun slowly rose and hit my face through the blinds I slowly rose for the day, I was still in what I had worn to school the previous day so I must've fallen asleep at some point soon after I got home.
I changed my shorts and put on hoodie and slowly opened my bedroom door, it sounded so peaceful, I thought I was the only one awake for once, so I plopped down the stairs as loud as I thought I could until I noticed that my mom was awake and resting in the kitchen on a bar stool, she spun around with a book in her lap and her reading glasses laying on the lower bridge of her nose.
" Well good morning to you too." She murmured, not looking up from her book. It she was clearly annoyed with my entrance.
" Sorry, I thought I was the only one awake."
" So you're telling me you were trying to wake me and your father up, right?"
I paused, she had beat me. I hated it when she did that, even though she did it quite often.
She gave me a smirk, when ever I made a face back at her she knew she had won the argument. I heard a thud and my dad was slowly emerging from his bedroom, his eyes her huge and blue, like mine, but my mother had deep brown eyes that I honestly zoned out looking at some times. " Where's my coffee?" My father asked as he slowly looked down at my mother.
" Well, you see hun, I have things to do in the morning too. So sometimes it starts with you getting a mug, some grounds out of the cabinet and you actually walking to the coffee machine."
My parents didn't always get along but I didn't let me bother me, in fact, at the time I was staring at the clock until I began to realize that my parents were arguing again. I crept back up the stairs to change into a cleaner shirt so I could go out the back door and into the woods. As I did, I sighed as my the door shut my parents voices raising over each other's.
It happened often, and even though I wasn't a true fan of the woods, it was my best option for escaping the shouting, the town was nice and had some beautiful buildings but it was crowded and loud. The woods were peaceful, colorful, and just sweet in a way I couldn't describe.
After walking for a while I heard some noises to my left and decided to do some investigation, while I was a young adult my childish personality never left me, but I didn't care, it was nice not having to worry when I ever I tried to think with a child's mind. As I came closer and closer to the shrubs, a head poked out at me, he had a dark, reddish skin tone, his hair was darker and had a fluffy look, he had sweet big eyes as he stared at me. To be honest, he was, kind of cute. But in the back of my head I still knew he was an Orge, but he didn't seem didn't seem dangerous like everyone else had said.
If we were being fair, he looked my age so I didn't suspect him to do much, until he pushed me over onto my back and jumped over me, as we stared at each other I analyzed him more, he was wearing brown loose pants, similar to what I had fallen asleep in, but he had no shirt. He had sharper teeth and horns, but it didn't make him look dangerous, at all. I rolled over and sat on my knees, he sprawled up onto his feet, as if he had never seen a human before, but I could see that. He slowly eased into me and held out his hand, I was still slightly scared but I trusted him, I took his hand and he gently pulled me up. He didn't let go of my hand and he stared walking deeper into the forest, I bent under many low hanging branches to keep up until my hand slid away. Then he disappeared, I ran but I couldn't see him. Until a few moments later, I ran into his back and he fell over, as karma for being horribly anti-social for so long, I awkwardly fell on top of him.
" S-sorry..."
He said nothing back and rose from the ground. He stood back up and took my hand once again and walked slower hoping he wouldn't loose me again. Eventually we reached a large den looking thing, and a tree stump. He sat down on the tree stump and looked a rock, then back at me insisting I sit down. So I did.
" So... what's your name?" I asked, I felt like studering because I was still slightly shook by the moment. He gazed into the dawn and started writing in the sand. d-a-r-i-o.
" Dario?" I stared into his sweet eyes as the light reflected off of them. He clearly knew something of the humans, not bad things though, it was almost as if he could read my mind, he could understand and relate to me.
I never wanted to leave his side, it scared me not knowing if he was going to turn on me or not but I wanted him to stay with me forever, I felt safe with him.
I let my head fall onto his shoulder and let my eyes drift closed. I felt his arm rap around me gently, I felt as if I could've been there for years with him. His soft breathing was all I could hear as it got darker and darker by the minute. Within what felt like a few minutes I opened my eyes back up and slowly looked up at him. His focus was being given to the forest, he was starting at something in the woods, I sat up and directed his head to get him to look at me.
" What is it?"
He stood up, but he didn't take his eyes off me. I stumbled up and followed as he started to walk towards the edge of the thickets. I heard an awful noise as he hit the ground with an arrow in his arm, I dropped on the ground next to him trying to comfort him as well as attempting to ease out the arrow. I managed to yank it out as he desperately howled again. I held him to my chest and rocked him.
" It's okay... it's okay."
He slowly closed his eyes as he comforted him self into my arms as I cradled his upper body, there wasn't much I could do for him in that way, he was almost a good foot taller than me. We sat there for a few minutes as the blood on his arm dried, and so did his tears.
" Dario?"
His eyes slowly opened in my direction while at the same time he took a firm but gentle grasp on my hand. I stood up still holding his hand as an invite to stand up with me. We starting walking down south, after a while we reached a fresh water creek. He led himself down the rock side of the flowing water and scooped some up his hand and washed off his arm. I stared up at the sky and soon realized that I had spent the whole night with him. But I didn't mind, though I couldn't understand him, I loved being around him. He came back up and led me to the river side. As we sat there drinking the fresh water, I realized that for once I actually felt alive.
But I mostly felt my heart pumping so fast I thought it would set off like a rocket when ever I talked to him. His eyes drove off looking at random things until they came back to me. He took my hand and we walked throughout the forest.
" So... I know you can't respond, but I know you can understand me."
He looked at me with his sweet eyes.
" So, this has been amazing. You, what we've done. And... I hope that I can see you again and-"
Before I could finish my sentence we ended up back at my house behind a thin layer of trees. He let go of my hand.
I looked at him, I didn't want to leave him here, because I didn't know if he'd ever come back, and that was what I was afraid of. He hugged me tightly, I felt my eyes water as I wrapped my arms around him too.
He let go of me but he reunited our hands, and he didn't let go, and I hoped that he never would. But then it happened.
I was thinking of how much I never wanted to leave his side, and how much of an amazing day I had. And he ended the day for me to let me woke up to the most amazing morning.
As I went to open the door, we sealed our time together, with a kiss.—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
