Miss Hernandez - Alren

3 years later

"Honey! Get up babygirl! I gotta get you to Dinah's before I'm even more late for work babygirl!" Lauren hurriedly ran through her home, putting on her uniform for work. Lauren Jauregui was a Lieutenant for the Malibu Firefighter Department, it was 6:30 in the morning, and she had to be at work in less than 30 minutes.

As she's putting on her badge, her little brown daughter came down the stairs of their home. Her curly dark hair was scattered everywhere, but she at least dressed herself decently that it didn't look like someone did it with their eyes closed. Her green eyes had the tired look in them, but Lauren knew her daughter would be happier to join her aunt to sleep till noon.

Picking Honey up, Lauren gets her bag and the keys and walks them both out. She straps her daughter into the car, and rushes to Dinah and Normani's house. Dinah was her childhood friend, and Normani was her wife of 5 years. Norman works with Lauren at the station, while Dinah was a daycare teacher, with there other friend Camila. Dinah had to take a leave for her three year old son, Gordon. 

Honey and Gordon were two peas in a pod, even with their slight differences, Honey is like an over protective sister to him, and he just steals all the goodies for her when he can. Walking up to Dinah's door, Lauren is met with an also tired Dinah. "You know, you girls should really work on being morning people." Passing the sleepy Honey to Dinah, she rolls her eyes and smiles. "Well you know what, that's why we have people like you Lolo... by the way we need to talk when you come home, it's about the kids." 

Worried about the sudden seriousness in Dinah's voice, Lauren didnt care how late she was for work. "What do you mean? Everything okay D?" Dinah smiles at her, and starts to close the door, "Everything's fine, just hurry and do what you have to do and we will talk."

Dinah shuts the door, and Lauren can't seem to stop thinking about what she wants to talk about. But knowing her bestfriend, she's too sleepy to talk about anything, so Lauren hops into her big red truck and drives off to work.

Fire Station - 5 PM

"Hey Mani, what the hell is your wife gonna drop on me." Lauren yells from the other side of their firetruck. Mani pops her head out and smirks, "Nothing that she drops on me, Lo." Lauren dead panned at her friend. "Very funny, but if I wanted Dinah to drop anything on me, it would've happened a very long time ago." And this makes Lauren laugh, seeing as Normani was not happy with her comment, "Okay, too far, TRUE, but too far, anyway I don't know, she said she was gonna talk to me too this morning." Lauren nods, and they finish up so they can have dinner. 

Every Thursday, Lauren and Mani get off around 5, and so does Camila, so they all decide to get together for dinner. Dinah and Lauren usually do the cooking, while Mani and Camila watch the kids. It's just better that way. Lauren and Mani eventually finish up, and drive back to the Kordei Household. They see Camila's jeep is already there, so they park and head inside. 

As they enter, Lauren and Normani are met with a delicious smell. Dinah was making a basic but mouth watering dish of spaghetti and meatballs, her specialty. "Aww D, couldn't wait for your bestfriend?" Lauren says, loud enough for her daughter to hear. "Mommy!" Honey yells running over to her, jumping in for a hug. "Wow, why can't Gordon be that excited to see me." Normani sees, as she sees her son laughing in Camila's arms. "Haha, because he's too distracted playing with someone with his same mentality babe." Dinah says, as she kisses her wife. 

"Heyyyyy I heard that!" Camila says, bringing Gordon to Mani. He coos into his mothers arms, giving her a half gummy and half toothy smile. "Hey D, you ready to talk to us?" Lauren asks, as she sets the table. Dinah thinks, and nods, "Yeah let me serve you guys real quick."

Once everyone was settled, Camila was helping feed Gordon, while Honey ate, and Mani, Lauren and Dinah talked. "So, I've decided to go back to the day care." Lauren was surprised to hear this, and she knew what this meant. "Sooo, this means you can't watch Honey anymore, doesn't it?." Dinah nods, but Camila chimes in. "No worries though! Honey and Gordon can just come to the daycare with us, we got a new teacher and she seems very sweet Lolo, for the three year olds."

Lauren is in thought, she knows this might be the best option, but she's never really let Honey go alone with just anyone. "Lo, they're doing a meet the teacher on Monday, you can go and meet her teacher, I promise you'll love her, she's great with the kids!" Camila says, and Dinah grabs her best friends hand and adds, "This is what's best, she needs to be around more people Lo, besides I'll be in the same hallway and classroom sometimes." 

So Lauren agrees, tomorrow she will get the paper work and register Honey for daycare.
