How? Why? HOW?

Horrified, and with my heart attempting to beat its way out of my ribcage, I slowly turned around, my body already petrified. I held my hand to my chest when I saw August Frost leaning on the wall, his eyes were so deep and so dark I actually almost whimpered in fright.

"A-August" I swallowed. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Ren" He acknowledged me, muttering my name like it was venomous.

He was leaning there, dressed in one of the dark suits I had been assessing the night before in his flat. His face was cast with shadows, the only light being the one coming from the open window. Still, I noted he looked unbelievably beautiful, even as much as he looked terrifying. In his hands I could see he had something, and narrowing my eyes I realized he had the pair of Louboutines I had abandoned in his bathroom. The image in front of me was like it had come right out of my darkest and most beautiful nightmares. It was as bitter as a lemon but as sweet as vanilla. I couldn't help but doubt what was the reason I was feeling so nervous, was it joy or dread? I was losing my mind regardless.

My breathing was already too fast to be considered normal and my hands were incredibly fidgety.

"What are you doing here?" I managed to say as I tried to compose myself, somehow he managed to look even bigger than he was, his stance was so threatening I felt my knees fail me.

"You see, after you disappeared last night, I simply had to find you" He pushed himself away from the wall, dropping my shoes to the floor. I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"R-really? And why is that? Did I leave you hanging?" I tried to sound composed but I horribly failed. Why did he have so much power over me?

He snorted softly as he slowly took a few steps closer to me and I stiffened, already dreading the decreasing distance between us.

"Not quite" He faked a smile. "You have something that belongs to me, and I want it back"

"Something of yours? Your heart perhaps?" I moved my gaze around the room for a possible way out or something to defend myself with. I searched the table and saw only a spoon from the cereal I had been eating that morning. I knew I should have had that chocolate cake, then I would at least have a fork to stab him in the eye, stupid healthy choices!

"Funny" He said but his eyes were not at all amused. They were looking at me with a murderous look. After giving up about finding something to defend myself with, all I had left to do was face him with a straight back and a raised chin.

"Then I don't know what you're talking about" I played dumb, but he saw right through me, like he usually did.

"Ren" He warned as he walked closer to me and I shifted on my feet. "I don't enjoy being humiliated" His eyes were raging and I was starting to think he would murder me. "Where is it?" He was about a meter away from me and I swallowed.

"Where is what?" I said, still trying to think about something to get out of there.

"The suitcase. Where is it" He demanded. His fists clenching as he began to lose his patience.

"I don't have it" I spoke the truth, earning me a glare that would make anyone cry right on the spot. His eyes on me were like having cold ice digging into my skin, it burned me in a way that sent shivers up my spine and made me too self conscious about my body, I felt essentially naked.

Suddenly he pounced and his enormous hands were gripping my shoulders tightly and I whimpered, startled.

"You will tell me where it is, now!" He yelled and I felt my body tremble.

"I told you I don't have it!" I screamed too.

With a murderous face he took hold of both my arms and slammed me onto the wall next to us, pressing himself to me harshly, cancelling any chance of defending myself.

"Who has it?" He groaned, his chest vibrating onto mine, making me shiver. My breathing was so loud and so desperate I had to press my lips together to suppress it, straining on his hold while I tried to wiggle myself out of it to no avail.

"I can't help you!" I yelled, struggling to free my arms from his iron grip. The way he was holding me was shockingly strong, I was sure no creature could possibly escape it.

"Listen to me." He took hold of both my wrists with one hand above my head, gripping my chin with the other, forcing me to look him in the eye. "You tell me who has it or this will be the last thing you see" He groaned as I stared into his raging blue eyes. They were vicious, startling. I was panting, believing every word of what he just said.

I didn't expect for this to happen, this had never happened before. None of the men I had robbed ever found me again, as most of them were too embarrassed to even go to the police and tell them the woman they (sometimes, almost) slept with had robbed them of their most precious possessions. But August hadn't even brought the police, he was here alone, and I didn't know what to do.

"How did you find me?" I asked after a few seconds and his raging eyes narrowed.

"Your phone" He said, as if it was obvious. I thought I'd dropped my phone when those criminals attacked me on the way out of the bar, did he take it?

"My phone?" I asked, taken aback.

"You left your phone at the bar and I was looking for you when you got harassed by those..." Suddenly his eyes fixed on me in a way that was paranormal. "Those men" He said, his eyes opening in realization. With an even more frightening expression, his hands gripped me tighter. "They sent you, didn't they?" He roared and my body shook.

I hesitated for a moment. "Yes" I said, trying to gather my courage when facing that terrifying man.

"Have you seen their leader?" He asked and I pressed my lips together as I slowly nodded, unsure of how to exactly proceed. Everything was too confusing, too overwhelming.

His gaze was stuck on me for a few seconds, contemplating the information. His orbs moved quickly, as he seemingly decided what to do with me.

"Don't kill me" I said as he moved one hand to his pocket.

August gave me a devious lopsided grin and I found it equally malicious and beautiful. I was losing my composure. "You will wish I had" He said and then a handkerchief was tightly pressed onto my face, choking me. I struggled for a few seconds, trying not to breathe into the intoxicating piece of cloth, but my survival instincts failed me, and I ended up inhaling the drug, and soon enough, the last thing I saw were a pair of ice-blue eyes, and then everything went black.
