- Mat's POV -
"Her dad's a dick" I spoke into the phone, only fueling my rage even more. I put my phone on speaker and sat it on the bench as I scrolled through my laptop.
"Why does the boss want you up her ass then?"
I scrunched my face up at let out a sigh. Why does everyone make him sound so fucking important?
"Derek's team is out for her."
"Why?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out."
As soon as I finished the familiar 'failed' text came across my screen. I groaned and leaned back into my seat, running my hands over my face.
"They've stepped up their security that's for sure." I mumbled, mainly to myself
"It'll take a week max. You'll be fine Mat." I look over at my phone as a notification popped up. "You better be right. I'll speak to you later."
"Bye Mat."
My eye's scanned over the words.
Did you forget that little conversation we had?
God, if I could I'd shoot a bullet right up his ass. He was always finding different ways to piss me off.
I don't listen to you, did you forget that?
A smirk came over my face. Pretty good come back if I do say so myself. I shoved my phone in my back pocket, grabbing the closet knife to me and putting it in my sock.
This'll be interesting.
---
My fists came off the wood and I instantly wanted to turn around and go home. It wasn't like I was scared, I just couldn't be bothered dealing with whoever came to the door.
Or so I thought.
The door swung open to a perky blonde, smiling brightly at me. "Can I help you?" She was so sweet, surprisingly. Considering where she came from.
"Just the doll face I was looking for."
She furrowed her brows in confusion, not understanding what I was saying. I sighed, knowing how this was eventually going to go down.
"Is your big man home?" I was speaking to her like a twelve year old but something in me said she would probably be quite dumb. Probably the hair.
"No, why?"
"Alright you've got two options. I'm here to save you, from a different big man, a scarier one. So I'm going to need you to come with me either way wether you make it easy for me or not I don't really care."
It took her a second to process what I had just said before she tried to slam the door, my foot wedging it open slightly. I cursed under my breath a the pain that shot up my leg before curling my fingers around the door frame.
"I had a feeling you would act like this" I quickly kicked the door open, managing to grab her arm as he tried to speed off. Her screaming and leg kicking was just adding onto the list of things that were already pissing me off.
Her small frame made it easy for me to pick her up and throw her over my shoulder, walking out of the house and shutting the door behind us. She was crying. Loudly.
Eventually I got her to the car, swinging the door open and putting her down on the seat, holding her jaw in my hand aggressively.
"Listen sweetheart, I don't like you as much as you don't like me but soon we won't have to see each other and then we'll bother me happy. Ok?" I gave her a cheesy grin and bopped her on the nose, making sure to lock the doors as I closed it.
I quickly made my way around the the drivers seat and looked behind me, her mascara running down her cheeks as she continued to cry. I rolled my eyes and began to drive, trying to block her out.
As we hit a stop light, I turned around and faced her, her tears stopping briefly. "Your crying is really fucking annoying and making it difficult for me to concentrate on other things. If you keep going you'll end up choking a vomiting all over my car and the last thing I want to be is a shitty Uber who has to deal with shitty people so shut the fuck up."
I sighed as I turned around, enjoying the peace and serenity I finally managed to get.
---
I knocked on the door, practically slamming it to get his attention. As the door swung open he looked at me like he was confused.
"She's in the car, get her before i fucking kill her myself" I began to walk away, his voice grabbing my attention once again.
"You got her? Already?" I stormed back over to him, our faces inches apart. Sometimes, most of the time, I really wanted to shoot him in the fucking face. But he was right, he was the reason I had money in the first place.
"I feel like I'm doing this thing where I constantly have to remind you that I am literally the best person that works for you. Now get her before my head explodes"
Thank fuck I'd never have to see her again.
