chapter 8

The ability to wait is the sign of true love. Be patient, and you'll get everything you want.

It was quite an offer and I was tempted to accept it, but I declined.

The reason was quite simple, I take bad decisions at the perfect time.

I waved him goodbye and walked beside Michael towards the car.

I sat on the passenger seat and Michael ignited the engine and it made a huge roar.

While we drove a few kilometers away, Michael started to make weird facial expressions.

It seemed that he was is some kind of deep thought, so I tapped him on his shoulder and asked what was wrong with him?

He turned, looked me in the eyes and asked me one question, "Do you like him?"

This was the question I wanted to hide, but how can my life be less of a challenge.

I got nervous, started to build a lie so I stammered. He gave me a wide grin, that grin was just like he understood every situation without me speak a  word.

The drive to my home was a silent death for me because I didn't know what Michael thought, it made me feel uncomfortable.

I reached my home, waved Micheal goodbye and rung the doorbell.

The gate opened and I went straight to my bedroom. I wore my nightdress, switched off the lights, laid down on my bed and watched the ceiling.

I started to hallucinate about the events that happened today, it was the best day of my life. I never had such kind of adventure in my life, it was awesome.

The next morning I woke up and started to scroll my phone to get the daily feeds.

I got a message from an unknown number

Hey, this is Adonis here wanna catch up? I have an event called 'Animalicious' which is going to be conducted in the central city zoo at 11.30 am and I hope you would come. I will be waiting at the gate, see you soon.

I was very excited and jumped out of the bed with joy. I had a quick glance at my watch and it was already 10 am.

"Shit! It's already 10 and the zoo is about 20 minutes from here, so I have to hurry."

You might have heard of "haste is waste" I am the greatest example because After I had my shower, dressed up and stepped outside, I realized that I forgot my purse.

I stood beneath a garage which was a few minutes away from my house and gave a thought to return back home.

"If I return back it would be too late and I don't want to keep him waiting."

The only way that I could reach there was, Yes you guessed it right, beg, borrow, steal.

I started to walk in the direction of the zoo with a hope to get a lift from a vehicle.

To my luck, I found a red car halt near a small retail shop. I rushed towards the shop and asked the driver to please drop me.

The driver was an old man with shades on, he wore a black polo neck t-shirt and a brown jacket, he had quite a good fashion sense and looked dapper.

"Where do you want to go, kid?"

"I want to go to the central city zoo and within 20 minutes."

"Okay kid, have a seat we are going to blast towards the zoo just like a rocket."

I sat inside the car, he asked me to put on the seat belt. He was a man of his words he blasted his car towards the zoo and I reached the zoo within 15 minutes.

I thanked him and got out of the car, I could see Adonis wait at the gate for me. I quickly went behind a tree and messaged him,

I won't be able to come today

Ok cool, hope we meet next time.

His face dropped and he started to move inside the zoo, I grabbed his hand from the back and asked him, "where are you going?"

He was shocked to see me, "how come you are here?"

I started to laugh an endless laughter, pulled his hand and went inside the zoo as he was the event manager I didn't have to buy a ticket, lucky me.

The zoo was absolutely transformed into some kind of party bash. The stage was made up of glass tiles which had small LED'S under it and the LED's lit up with the beat of the music.
It was absolutely crazy.

I asked Adonis to give me the complete list of events, he handed me the brochure and I started to read.

                 ANIMALICIOUS

It was quite an unusual type of event but it had a potential to grab the eyeballs. As Adonis was the manager, he won't be able to sit for a particular type of event for very long because he has to check all the events are properly administered.

So I decided to be with Adonis and just have a glance at all the events.

The first event that we attended was a dolphin show, the arrangement was so grand that it had a dome-like structure which was the stands for the audience and at the center, there was a big pool which contained dolphins as well as the instructors.

The dolphins went past the loops that were held by the instructor and they also interacted with the audience by giving them a kiss, it was absolutely dope.

The second event was monkey dunk, where the monkeys were dressed in NBA jersey and they played basketball in a perfect basketball court. Whenever someone scored there was a pyrotechnic display.

The third event we attended was the fire in the jungle, at this event there were 5 lions who sat at the ramp in a line. The instructor said the phrase "fire in the jungle", all the lions sat at attention, suddenly he told them to stand and the last one to stand up was eliminated.

The last event that we attended was the laser show with the bears, overall the event was brilliant and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The event ended around 6 pm because the zoo closes at that time after we reached the gate of the zoo Adonis asked me, " will you join me for a cup of coffee at my place?"

I gave a thought and it wasn't quite late I could spend 1-2 hours more so I nodded for his offer.

He stayed nearby the city zoo, he had a bike and I sat behind him. I held the back handle of the bike to keep my balance after few bumps I realized it wasn't a good idea.

I placed both of my hands on the shoulder of Adonis and the scenario became quite awkward for me.

We reached his house and he said me to sit on the couch as he made coffee for us.

All of a sudden there was a knock on the door...

I opened the door and exclaimed in shock, "jack!"
