Love The Way You Lie

chapter 13

It’s not easy to believe in love at first sight until that special person comes along and steals your heart. 

Recap:- The man who stood on the door was Adonis.

I was in complete shock, chills started to flow down the spine, was it really Adonis?

He was also shocked and his eyes popped out of his socket. To break the silence he asked me a question," where were you for the past 2 years?"

I didn't want him to know about the torture I faced in this 2 years, so I lied.

"I resided in Georgia street with my aunt."

"Could you not just text or call me for once?"

" My cell phone was crushed by a bus and I didn't have any medium to call you", I lied again.

"Oh never mind, can we just sit and talk? Won't you allow me to enter the house?"

"Oh I am sorry, please come in."

Micheal was all geared up to get to work, he wore a magenta shirt and a silver blazer, he looked dapper.

He greeted Adonis with a hug and a lot of questions started to erupt in my mind. How come Adonis land up here? How did Micheal and Adonis become good friends?

I ignored my questions and started to check out Adonis, he looked so perfect. He wore a black and white horizontal stripes t-shirt and black jeans.

"I have a meeting to handle, I gotta go, you guys carry on."

Micheal grabbed the keys of his car and left the house. I felt awkward to be with Adonis, it didn't mean I don't love him but I felt butterflies in my stomach.

We sat on the couch and had a very normal conversation. My attention diverted for a couple of times because I was fascinated by Micheal's set of musical instruments.

"Do you know to play any instruments?"

"No", I replied.

He caught my hand and dragged me towards the musical keyboard. He placed me on the stool and asked me to rest my hands on the key of the keyboard.

He placed his hands on my fingers and neck on my shoulders. The touch of Adonis on my body made me feel very calm and happy.

He sang lyrics of the song in my ears very gently, it was so mysteriously attractive that I had goosebumps on my entire body.

I couldn't handle anymore, I got up from the stool and went straight to the washroom. I didn't want to take an adverse step just as I did with Micheal, agreed it was a dream though but I was cautious this time.

I splashed water on my face, took deep breaths and went outside the washroom.

" What happened?"

"Nothing I had to pee very urgently."

"Haha, you got up very strangely so I thought I offended you or something."

"Everything's cool, don't worry", I replied.

He asked me shall we continue with our instrument tutorial, I replied no cause I couldn't bare him to speak lyrics in my ears again. I asked him if we could do something different.

We saw a gramophone inside the glass shelf which hung beside the television. I asked him if we could listen to a few old songs and just relax.

He removed the gramophone from the shelf and played it. The song was so pleasant that I started to sing, the next thing he did was switched off the gramophone and asked me to continue.

He offered me his hand and asked me to get up, he grabbed my waist, I placed my hand on his shoulder and we started to revolve around the couch.

It was so beautiful just like a dream. After a few moments, we came to halt, I looked into his eyes and he looked in mine. I wanted to get lost in his hazy eyes, it was just like clouds in the endless sky.

I placed my forehead on his head and closed my eyes, I didn't open my eyes but tears started to drip from my eyes.

I was emotionally so weak at this moment that I wanted him very bad cause I had lost everything.

I gently placed my hands on the back of his neck and told him that I loved him and wanted him to become the moments that I can cherish.

He didn't answer anything but wiped my tears and left the apartment.

It was evening and Micheal returned back from hard-fought work. I was pretty much zoned out so Micheal asked me about my silence.

I told nothing cause I didn't want to trouble him, I sat on the couch and started to stare at the floor.

Micheal sat beside me, held my hand and asked me, what bothered me.

I couldn't resist any longer, I told him the truth that I loved him and all the things that happened today.

He started to laugh and hugged me tightly. I didn't understand the reason for his laughter, so I gave him a confused look. He started to explain to me that Adonis's presence wasn't a coincidence and how he planned to make me meet Adonis.

"He likes you, idiot."

I was surprised and happy both at the same time, I jumped with joy but I had a question in my mind that how did Micheal and Adonis become friends.

I asked him this question and the reply he gave didn't impress me. He said that they became good friends because of alcohol, as far as I know, Adonis didn't use to drink alcohol but never mind I gave his reason a deaf ear and was extremely happy because Adonis came to meet me today.

I helped Micheal prepare the meal and sat on the table to have dinner. Suddenly, my phone vibrated and a message popped up, I saw the message and grinned. The message was from Adonis and he wanted to meet me at a coffee shop at 6 in the evening.

I jumped in joy and started to run in the house like a mad train. Micheal ran after me to stop but failed.

I was extremely happy, I hugged Micheal and thanked him for everything he did for me. He brushed his hand over my head and smiled brightly.

I tried to sleep but this night was a long night, I rolled over the bed but there was no hint of sleep. I wondered what would be Adonis's answer. "Will he say those words that I have been waiting for this long?"

My heart skipped a beat.

"Will he say I love you?"
