Sophia's POV
I was sat staring at the clock on my computer when Caius walked up to my desk.
"Hello Sophia."
"Hi Caius."
"I was wondering if you fancied getting lunch with me today?"
"Yeah, sure." I was trying to hide my excitement, but I think he saw it.
"Ready?" He held out his arm for me so I took it and we walked off towards the sunny streets outside. He took me to this little Chinese restaurant down one of Volterra's back streets where we sat outside surrounded by blooming flowers and the local's chatting as they ran errands. It was perfect.
We talked about our past lives, him asking me about mu mum and Jamie and I asking him about how he became vampire ect. Once I had finished my salad, he said he wasn't hungry, we took a long walk back to the castle. He held my hand, which despite his cold skin warmed me up. I asked him numerous questions about being a vampire, which he surprisingly answered.
"Do you drink blood?"
"Of course, I'm a vampire."
"Do you sleep in coffins, and hang from the ceiling as bats?"
"No I can't sleep, and we don't turn into bats, nor hang from the ceilings."
"What about sunlight, don't you burn?"
"No, not burn, more sparkle."
"Sparkle?"
"I'll show you." He stopped and removed his hood, his skin looked as though there were millions of tiny diamonds buried into it, all sparkling in the sunlight, or someone had tipped a jar of glitter on him. "Come on, let us head back. Aro won't be pleased if I keep you from your work."
We returned to the castle, him stopping to say goodbye as we reached my desk. He placed his hand on my cheek and leaned in, my lips crashing onto his. I could feel tingling in my toes as he placed his other hand on my face and deepened the kiss. His tongue crept into my mouth, I knew it automatically had dominance over mine. He pulled back, looking slightly embarrassed, as he said goodbye and returned to the throne room.
That was when I truly knew it, I was in love with my gorgeous vampire-boss.
